Like so many modern love stories, theirs began with a swipe. In the aftermath of the pandemic, Steven and Rachael found each other on a dating app, and when they both swiped right, a new chapter of their lives began. Their first date was at River and Fort in St. Augustine, a spot known for its charm—and on that evening, Steven quickly won Rachael over with his easygoing humor and warm smile.

For weeks, they were inseparable. Steven, a lover of the ocean and all things boating, introduced Rachael to a world she had never known, while she, in turn, showed him a life beyond the hospital walls where she spent her days. The two quickly discovered they balanced each other perfectly, each bringing out the best in the other.

After a sun-soaked, romantic getaway to Cancun, they made their relationship official, and from there, everything seemed to fall into place.

Two years flew by in a blur of laughter, adventure, and growing love. On their anniversary, Steven took Rachael back to where it all started—the same River and Fort restaurant in St. Augustine—this time, to ask her the most important question of all. With a proposal as heartfelt as their love story, Steven and Rachael were engaged.

Now, two years later, they’ve moved to New York, where they’re planning the next chapter of their journey together. On April 25, 2025, Steven and Rachael will say “I do” in the heart of Manhattan, surrounded by their closest friends and family, celebrating a love that began with a swipe, grew through laughter, and will last for a lifetime.
