Rachael and Avery found each other the old-fashioned way... swiping through a dating app. It was May, and Avery made his move by sending Rachael a virtual rose. Their first real-life date? Dinner at Parlor Pizza in Wicker Park on Memorial Day. But before this slice of destiny, Avery sent Rachael a pic of a “tiny carp” he’d caught with his pals earlier that day. Their journey continued as they moved in together and tackled the joys of co-parenting Bert and Charlie, their sweet fur babies. From morning coffee dates and countless movie nights, their love story brings us to Cancun for a Valentine's Day getaway, where Avery had a grand proposal plan. However, Mother Nature had other ideas, throwing a thunderstorm into the mix. Avery, rescheduled for Sunday, February 12th. Early the morning of the proposal, they hit the high seas for some deep-sea fishing. With the help of some Dramamine, Rachael survived some seasickness, and the pair reeled in a few triggerfish. And although the deep sea charter was over, Avery still had one last line to cast that day...

Avery led Rachael to the beach for a little photoshoot before dinner. After finding the perfect spot, he surprised her with rose petals and photographers, got down on one knee, and asked Rachael to marry him.
