Rachael & Brian

August 23–26, 2024 • Shasta Lake, CA

Once upon a time, in the magical year of 2012, fate wove its enchanting threads, bringing together two souls destined for a love story that would span a lifetime. It all began at a lively party in Riverside, California, where laughter echoed and music filled the air—a celebration that would forever mark the start of us.
Amidst the vibrant crowd and the rhythmic beats, Rachael and Brian caught each other's eyes for the first time. Little did they know that this chance encounter would be the spark that ignited a beautiful connection. As the night unfolded at the Memorial Day weekend party, Brian's attention to Rachael's needs peaked as she soon realized that this was not the type of party that served you drinks. Stating to Malyssa, her best friend who knew of a boy at the party, "Let's go get a bottle and come back." The friend of the friend, Brian, swooped into the rescue, asking, "What do you want to drink?" Beer was not an option for Rachael, and she stated "Liquor" with a demand in her voice. He magically appeared with a bottle of Jäger in his hands, albeit nearly empty. Rachael decided to receive the "gift" and polished off the bottle, to Brian's surprise. This became the soundtrack to their budding romance. The chemistry between Rachael and Brian was undeniable as if the universe had conspired to bring them together. As days turned into weeks and weeks into months, their connection deepened. For the 4th of July weekend, Brian boasted about having a buddy with a boat in Havasu. Rachael wanted onboard but knew she wouldn't go alone, so she dragged her best friend Megan with her. The weekend consisted of the two girls laughing at taking care of Brian's friends, who were too drunk, and with no boat in sight, the girls dragged the boys shopping. As they flirted, Rachael told Brian to stop annoying her with the "'We're from Rancho, we're better than you' nonsense, if she was his girlfriend." Brian ecstatically responded, "You're my girlfriend?" A kiss sealed their fate that July 1st. The next day, Brian wasn't going to sit around, so he and his best friend Jeff rented jet skis to have some fun with the girls. Their first date, you could say, and ending the night at Panda Express, where fortune cookies told their tale, as who knew forever would come.

From shared jokes to heartfelt conversations, every moment felt like a glimpse into the future they were destined to create. This led to Rachael nervously attending weekly Sunday night diners at Brian's parents' house. As Brian would visit Rachael's place for date nights throughout their years in SoCal…Fishing, 4Wheeling/KOH, Ice Skating, Paint Balling, Concerts, Ducks Season Tickets, 6Flags Season Tickets, the list goes on…They discovered shared passions, dreams, and a profound understanding of each other's quirks. Through life's ups and downs, they stood by each other, building a foundation of trust, love, and unwavering support. Special memories were shared among the love birds of found annual events they attended. Rachael took Brian to Jade Fest, where they discovered a gem called Benitoite. They both fell in love and knew they needed to find a stone for a wedding ring as it's the California state gem. Brian, of course, located one, as he shared his fond memories of his childhood taking trips to Sugarloaf Cottages yearly. As Brian's parents started talking about retirement near Shasta Lake, they Zillowed their way into dreaming of what was possible for themselves in NorCal with Rachael's family, who at that time in 2017 were all relocated around Folsom Lake. The journey continued, marked by countless adventures, milestones, and the discovery of what it truly meant to love and be loved. The cards unfolded; Brian was offered a job, and Rachael accepted an offer from a company near Sacramento, California. A decision made together in September 2017 started their adventure in NorCal. They purchased their first house in Mather, California, and made their house a home by adding Pilot, the German Shorthair Pointer, in 2018. From the simple joys to the grand celebrations, Rachael and Brian embraced every moment, cherishing the unique bond that blossomed from that unforgettable night in 2012. On September 3rd, Labor Day weekend 2023, Brian asked Rachael to at last take his hand in marriage on their boat under the Bass stamped 5 Freeway overpass on Shasta Lake, presenting the custom-designed ring that they dreamt up…all witnessed by Pilot. The sunset that evening encompassed the memories they shared so many years ago, from Jade Fest Benitoite finds to Shasta Lake family memories; the stage is set for their story to unfold.

And now, as they embark on the next chapter of their love story, Rachael and Brian invite you to join them in celebrating the magic that brought them together, "a party and a bottle of Jäger," and want you to help send them on the loving journey that lays ahead. This wedding is not just a union of two souls; it's a testament to the power of fate, love, and the beautiful moments that shape our lives.
So, let the love story of Rachael and Brian continue to unfold, as they say, I do, and embark on the adventure of a lifetime—a journey that started with a chance meeting at a party 12 years ago and will continue to be written with love, laughter, and the promise of forever as we party the weekend away with you!
