Do I need to book a cottage/hotel room?

Please call us to discuss details, as we will be grouping the families accordingly in the 15 cabins. You can book extra days, before or after the 3 days we are providing for you. Also, Shasta Lake is known for Houseboats...options around the area to rent if desired experience.

Can I bring my RV, Camper, or Trailer?

Yes! Again, please call and RSVP with us, and we can work out the details. You may even stay down the road at a nearby campground.

What to expect from the cottage?

Bed, shower, toilet (we wont make you use an outhouse), and kitchen with table, and couch. Bed-linens and towels provided. Grills and picnic tables. Air-conditioned and heated (you wont need the heater, and if you do, come enjoy the campfire) Complete kitchen - full-size stove and oven, full-size refrigerator, microwave, granite countertops, stainless steel sinks, dishes, pots and pans, silverware, utensils, coffee maker, toaster, etc. https://www.shastacabins.com/

What do I need to bring?

You will need to pack clothes for Friday - Monday, don't forget your swimsuit and your wedding attire. Food and snacks for the weekend; we will provide food at reception on Saturday and treat Sunday morning. Anything need to enjoy the lake even more; all your water toys, floaties, and fishing rod.

Terrain & Shoes

The property is dirt and gravel. Its on a slight slope leading down to the lake. You can walk to the lake from your cottage doorstep. Outside the property lines is the famous red clay of Shasta Lake. Flat bottom close toe shoes are recommended. Flip flops are a staple for lake days. Water shoes are neat. And heels can be left at home with your ballgowns. Wedges would work....but what are you trying to get fancy for?

What do I wear to the wedding ceremony?

I can't ask you to be all formal for an hour and then change into a swimsuit and jump in the lake with us. Come how you want and feel comfortable....but remember, a wedding is all about the pictures, you don't want these to haunt you.

Do I get cell service?

Depends. It is spotty. But all the important people are here, so no need to call anyone. Up by the road you may get signal. However within the property service is limited. Wi-Fi will be available.

What is the weather like?

Shasta Lake in August is hot! Summer weather is 100-degree days and warm summer nights.

What entertainment should I expect from the weekend?

Come to have fun! The lake is your playground; boating, tubing, wakeboarding, waterskiing, wakesurfing, fishing, or even swimming. Sugarloaf also has a game room called the "Upper Deck". Swimming pool, basketball, volleyball court, horseshoes, bocce ball, cornhole and a small playground for your enjoyment. Right out your front door you can enjoy the view as you just sit and relax. The water is only moments away with our easy lake access.

Is there a boat dock?

Yes, you can launch right from the property. And moor your boat at the private dock.

How is the road and driveway?

Once you exit the highway the 2-lane road is narrower but possible to tow boat or drive motorhome/trailer down. Driveway is at a downward slope, again possible with whatever you drive or tow.

What if I forget something, how far away is civilization?

Redding is 29miles or 40ish minutes away. Even before that in the town of Shasta Lake you can find stores. There is a little market (Lakeshore Villa Market) as you exit the freeway to head to Sugarloaf. About 2.5miles, 6min drive. It carries a wide verity of things "campers" might need.

Traveling to Surgarloaf

Driving is best. Redding does have a airport that you can fly into and we will gladly pick you up! Redding may be limited on flights, but possible. Sacramento Airport is the next closest and we can also arrange transportation to Shasta Lake.
