In our last years of high school, Patrick and I both signed up to be cabin leaders for our school’s 6th grade camp program. There was a meeting for all cabin leaders the week before, which I was late to as always. As I rushed in, our friend Jadyn (now a bridesmaid!) called me over and told me that she really wanted me to meet her friend Patrick. Patrick instantly had me laughing! The following week at camp, we were always trying to find each other and really got to know one another. By the end of the week, we were talking nonstop! The next weekend was homecoming, and while we went with different groups, we ended up finding each other and spending the entire night dancing together! The Monday after homecoming, we went on our first date to “Freeze Daddys,” and from there, we became inseparable. We had our second, third, and fourth dates all later that week! A couple days later, Patrick had asked me to be his girlfriend! When he dropped me back off at home, I was so excited and ran to tell my parents! However, I had just received a text from Patrick saying that he actually did not want to be dating yet. I was super sad, but he had asked me to hang out the next night, which I of course said yes to! That night Patrick had said to me, “I’ve decided we’re dating now!” I was confused, but so excited that I went with it! Months later, I found out that Patrick had looked years ahead on the calendar and wanted our dating anniversary to fall on weekends, so we could spend our anniversary all weekend together. Therefore, it had to be October 16th! From then on, we survived through the pandemic, living in different cities, moving to college, etc., and our love for one another only got stronger! We wouldn’t have it any other way!
