Our Wedding

Nate and I met December 2022, and in all honesty, every day feels like an adventure! Like many modern relationships, ours began with a swipe-- and almost instantaneously, a connection was formed--between the breathtaking pictures of the PNW and his furry companion, Bebe-I knew something was different. We shared our first date over an iced coffee. As conversation flowed effortlessly, we discovered our mutual love for foraging, hiking, gardening, and the great outdoors, this led to a rather impromptu first trip together to the Shenandoah River Valley. From that day on, our lives became an adventure filled with late-night talks, trips to Longwood Gardens, and finding the "silver lining" to difficult situations--e.g. when we built a greenhouse out of an extra delivery of windows. Nate and I encourage each other to explore new experiences, whether it's hiking Angel's Landing in Zion National Park, a challenging rock scramble in the New River Gorge, or exploring the beauty of a natural hot spring in the Pacific Northwest. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect surprise proposal in Oregon, at a U-pick fruit and dahlia farm located between Mt. Hood and Mt. Adams, following a trip of near endless berry-picking, hiking, foraging, and exploring--it truly encapsulated our relationship. What started as a chance encounter quickly blossomed into a beautiful relationship. Each day brought new laughter, support, a growing love that felt like home, and nights that feel like sleepovers with a best friend. Now, as we stand here ready to say “I do,” we look back on that fateful day with gratitude, knowing it was the beginning of our forever. We can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with all of you!

From Rachael's Perspective:

One of the things I love most about my future wife is that she encourages&nbsp;me to be vulnerable and to lean into hard things with confidence. Crafting this&nbsp;bio&nbsp;is a perfect example of her encouragement in action. As some of you reading may know, this will be my second&nbsp;wedding, but it will be my first time marrying Rachael Rugletic.&nbsp;Rachael has been an answer to my many prayers and petitions to God for the understanding and compassion that God knew I needed after the passing of my first wife, Alycia.&nbsp;No one person can ever replace another, but the Lord saw our hearts (and our Hinge profiles) and, through His divine programming, was able to adjust our algorithms to bring two unique and loving souls together.&nbsp;&nbsp; Every moment with Rachael has been a delightful surprise. From her love for unique cuisines and adventurous travel to our shared appreciation for the music we grew up with, it felt like we were meant to know each other. It’s as if we grew up in the same town and shared the same childhood, even though our hometowns were miles apart. Our dates evolved into epic trips, and no matter where we went, we always felt right at home together. The proposal was quintessentially “us.” We hiked through the stunning Pacific Northwest, picked wild berries, swam in rivers, and scaled mountains—our idea of a perfect day. When Rachael said “Yes” on August 1st, 2024, I knew I had found someone to grow with, the share happy and sad days together, and to lift each other up.&nbsp;&nbsp; I am most looking forward to continuing our gardening, adding more pins to the world map, and more pages in our cook book.&nbsp;&nbsp;We have so much more to learn and love about each other, and can't wait to celebrate the start of that journey with all of our friends and family.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Julia and Rachael met Sophomore year at King's College, and initially began as Bio lab partners. We've been through SO MUCH together (e.g. the disaster that was Rachael's 20s) and couldn't imagine a better pick for MOH!

Stephen is Nathan's little brother, but a big influence in his life.  He and Nathan share a love for his Italian heritage, love for travel, and good home cooking.  Stephen truly fits the bill for Nate's best man.

Haley and Rachael met in 2nd grade on the school bus, and had been inseparable throughout elementary -> high school.  As girls, we were always exploring / hiking, and getting into so much trouble. We shared a Alice-in-Wonderland sweet 16 together, where we DIY-ed all of the décor! I'm incredibly happy that Haley and I re-connected in our mid-late 20s, and I'm excited for her to share this day with me!

Jessica and Rachael met in Middle school, and truly shared the "blunder years" together, making absurd school projects, being "orch dorks" (e.g. we both played viola / violin respectively). We reconnected in our mid-late 20s when we realized how close we live to each other in Central PA! I'm excited to have yet another fantastic friend share this special time!

Derek and Nate go back to 2000,  in 9th grade when Nate just moved to Lancaster County from Pittsburgh.  Throughout the years Derek has always been a positive influence and close friend.   No matter the occasion, Derek can always bring a room to life.

Nate's longtime roommate and close friend, Ben; an international man of mystery.  To know Ben, is to know a mountain, full of abundance, warmth at its base and cool at its peaks, Ben is a true friend and companion.
