Rachael and Samuel first crossed paths in January of 2017 during a fraternity party of all places! A few months after meeting, they officially started dating. Samuel graduated first and moved home to Delaware before taking a job in Miami working for NASCAR, while Rachael finished her nursing degree. After being long distance for over a year, Rachael and Samuel took a chance on love and moved to Nashville together (two months before the pandemic started)! Four years later they are still in Nashville. Rachael and Samuel made some amazing friends, created many memories and are living the life they always dreamed of together.

Samuel’s sisters, Amy and Katie, came to Nashville for a concert in August of 2022. Unbeknownst to Rachael, they had a ring box with them. The proposal was officially set in motion! Samuel thought he had the perfect plan for how to propose—on broadway under the neon lights of Nashville. Two days before Samuel was set to propose, Rachael and Samuel were joking around about ways to get engaged, tossing out ideas like at a sporting event, faking being one of her patience’s, on the beach at sunrise. The ideas ranged from the good to the bad to the ugly. During this conversation Samuel ran the idea of proposing on broadway by Rachael. In response, she said “that would be my worst nightmare.” The next day Samuel was scrambling to come up with a new idea, with the help of Fred and Cassidy Tritschler, he came up with a new plan. Fred and Cassidy were going to invite Rachael and Samuel out for a cocktail and then to walk through Bicentennial park and pop the question with the Nashville skyline as the backdrop. The afternoon of the proposal, Samuel drove the ring to Fred and Cassidy’s house so they could carry it with them and give it to him when the time came. On Samuel’s way home, he decided to drive past the park and to his surprise, there was an EDM festival in the park that night! Well, Samuel’s heart was already set on proposing that night and Rachael was due home from work in less than three hours. Panic would be an understatement to describe his mental state at the moment. Fred, Cassidy and Samuel threw together a new plan: the rooftop of Rachael and Samuel’s apartment. Instead of meeting at the cocktail bar, they came straight to the apartment to have a drink before heading out for the night. Since it was such a gorgeous night, someone suggested everyone go to the rooftop for the drink. The four of them went up to the roof and with the skyline in the distance the scene was set. Samuel asked Rachael for a picture and dropped to one knee.
