Rachel and Josh moved to Chicago after graduating from University of Wisconsin-Madison and Indiana University.

One freezing February day just a few months later, Josh and Rachel were stuck at home after a snowstorm, leaving multiple feet of snow on the ground. Rachel's friend (shoutout Ally) braved the snowy weather and came to Rachel's apartment to work together, and in doing so, also invited Josh over, as he happened to live just a few blocks away.

Josh trudged over, showing up in none other than his Kansas City Royals sweatshirt, Royals hat, and Royals socks. They spent the day working, later finding themselves distracted as Rachel helped Josh update his Hinge profile. Strangely enough, Josh didn't get any more Hinge matches after that.

The two love traveling with friends, family, and as a couple. Their first solo trip together was to visit Door County, Wisconsin. Fast forward to September 2023, the two returned to Door County for a supposed relaxing getaway/Josh's birthday celebration, but the weekend began with a surprise proposal, a very enthusiastic "Yes!", and a surprise appearance from their families.
