Our story began in October 2021 when Daniel bought a house and his realtor, Kathy, decided to play match maker. Kathy has been a close family friend to my family for a very long time and was impressed with Daniel through the home buying process. One day in early October, I saw Kathy and she said to me, “Rachel, I found you a boyfriend”, and proceeded to tell me all about Daniel and how he was such a sweet and polite guy and that he had done every single thing that she told him to do throughout the home buying process with no questions asked and continued to brag about him to me. I just kind of brushed it off and didn’t think much more about it after that, but I did do a little Facebook stalking.

The night before Daniel was closing on his house, Kathy called me and she told me that tomorrow would be the last day that she would be seeing Daniel and she wondered if I wanted her to give him my number. Me, trying to play hard to get, told her that she could tell him to look me up on Facebook. So the next day, when Daniel was closing on his house, Kathy said to him “Daniel, I found you a girlfriend” and then she began telling him about me and told him that he needed to look me up on Facebook and take me out on a date. She also gave him a card congratulating him on his new house and wrote my name in it, further telling him to look me up.

A week or so passed and Daniel sent me a friend request on Facebook. After a couple days, and Daniel trying to decide whether or not to cancel the request, I accepted it. After a few more days passed, he sent me a message on Facebook. Once again, me playing hard to get, I took several days before opening and responding to his message and Daniel contemplated canceling the message before I finally responded back. We messaged back and forth for a week or two before Daniel asked me out on a date and I wasn’t able to go the first time he asked me. So another week or two passes and he asks me out again and this time I finally said yes. We went on our first date on December 4th, 2021. Daniel came and picked me up and we went out to dinner at the Cat & Owl. We had really good conversation and neither of us wanted the night to end so we rode around town and looked at Christmas lights afterwards.

We made things official on February 3rd, 2022 and it didn’t take long for either of us to realize that we were “the one” for each other. In September of 2022, we added a member to our little family when we got our puppy Nash. He’s our little baby and we love him so much! Fast forward to May 25th, 2023. Daniel and I went fishing with my Dad on the river where we typically go. I thought it was just a typical evening going fishing, but as we were walking up from the river bank to leave I see both of our families walking towards us and Daniel gets down on one knee and pops the question and then fireworks started to go off as I said “yes”! It was such a special day! We enjoy traveling, going to different sporting events (especially baseball), fishing, skiing, and spending time with family. We are so excited to say “I do” and spend the rest of our lives together!
