The first time we met is a bit of a mystery. It could have been in Mrs. Williams second grade class together, or on the playground in kindergarten but we don't recall many interactions until high school. Throughout those four years at PHS we had many classes together, attended the same bible study, and we were in the same friend group of guys and girls off and on. It wasn't until senior year rolled around that our story really began.

As we started becoming closer friends, Vaughn attempted to show his interest in being more than friends. Unfortunately Rachel didn't quite get the hint. As the old saying goes, third times the charm and when Vaughn asked Rachel on a date for the third time, she said yes.

In December of 2020, our first date included Culver's ice cream, driving around, and meeting up with the rest of our friends later. Soon after, we officially started dating already knowing that we would be going to different colleges three hours away from each other. This encouraged us to have a lot of real conversations about the future and we grew closer very quickly. Fast forward to August of 2021 we both headed off to our first year of college at different places.

After almost two years of FaceTime calls, weekend visits, and lots of prayers about the future, Vaughn proposed on our Spring Break trip to Colorado in March of 2023. Throughout our relationship we have been able to reflect on how God has provided for us and are excited to see where He leads us in this next chapter of life.
