Avoiding Bali Belly (important read)
Skip the ice: While ice is mostly safe now, if you're unsure, it's best to avoid it. Some travelers have still reported issues, even at popular spots like Finns Beach Club.
Don't use tap water when brushing your teeth: Use bottled water to rinse your toothbrush and clean your teeth. Hot Tip: Cover the tap with a towel or plastic bag to avoid accidental use!
Choose Reputable Restaurants: Opt for popular Western restaurants and make sure you read the reviews.
Avoid street food
Skip prawns & high-risk seafood—prawns are one of the most common foods people report getting sick from in Bali.
Pass on salads and fruits: Raw fruits and salads can be risky due to potential water contamination.
Wash your hands frequently and use hand sanitizer, especially before meals.
Stick to bottled drinks and avoid mixed cocktails. Some places dilute spirits to save money, making mixed drinks riskier.
Recommendations:
We highly recommend Travelan to help protect your stomach, or Perenterol if you're in Germany. If these aren’t available in your country, ask your pharmacist for a product designed to prevent stomach issues from food or water (not just a regular probiotic.) Trust us - these can make a big difference and really work! (Travelan’s been in high demand & out of stock, so grab it early to be safe!)
Boost Gut Health: Take a probiotic 1-2 weeks before & during your trip to strengthen your digestive system.
Be mindful of sun exposure: Apply sunscreen regularly and stay hydrated. Pre-purchase and pack something like Hydralyte (electrolytes) to help maintain hydration.
Pack Mosquito Repellent - Dengue isn't super common, but it does happen, so take extra precautions.
Please take these tips seriously (but don't stress)! We just want to make sure everyone takes it easy in the days before the wedding & feels their absolute best for the big day. 🌟
