Our Wedding

Rachel moved to Atlanta in 2020 to expand her business. She was very busy creating art work in her studio and exploring the city. Atlanta was home to Adam. He enjoyed being close to family and fellow “yellow jackets”.&nbsp;COVID presented many challenges at that time. Making personal connections was difficult, socializing was done outside and masks were a must. We were living life as we never imagined. It was an extremely hard time for all.Somehow during this dark and confusing period we found a silver lining.&nbsp;Rachel arrived at The Dairies Brewery first, she was settling in at an outside table on a cold January night and feeling a little curious about the guy she was meeting. When she saw Adam arrive wearing a pink jacket she immediately approved. Adam admits that his first thought was “she’s really pretty”. As the night progressed they never ran out of things to talk about. That was the first of many dates. Rachel soon realized how compassionate Adam was as he helped her get through a brief illness soon after they met.Adam’s job took him to NYC where he agreed to stay for one year. Their relationship only grew stronger during that year, they were constantly traveling back and forth between Atlanta and NYC.&nbsp;Adam and Rachel want to spend the rest of their lives together and they can’t wait to make it official on May 30th, 2026!

We are so grateful that you are considering joining us in Poros. Nothing would mean more to us than to celebrate surrounded by the people we love. Below is some helpful information to guide your travel arrangements. Step 1: Check Your Passport &amp; Book Your Flight- Make sure your passport is current.- Book your flight to Athens (ATH) — Athens International -Airport is the main airport and is approximately 20 miles from the city center.- Flights to Athens fill up quickly, so we recommend booking as soon as possible. Arriving in Athens- We suggest arriving at least one day before the wedding festivities begin on Tuesday, May 26th.- You’ll experience a 7-hour time difference and a long flight — a good meal and a full night’s sleep will help!- If your schedule allows, consider arriving earlier to explore Athens’ incredible historical sites.The Acropolis Museum is a must-see! (NOT Poros Kefalonia and NOT Paros)- The port is a short taxi ride from the city center.- More info to come about transportation from Poros port to your hotel. Returning to Athens- Most guests will return on Monday, June 1st.- We will organize group travel for those interested; more information will be shared closer to the date.

Accommodations

The Odyssey boutique hotel and bistro is owned by the amazing Katerina, her husband Rik, their daughter Dora and her husband Vaggelis. They are hosting our wedding on their olive farm and offer two lodging options. Their boutique hotel, Odyssey, is located in Askeli, a small residential area on the Island of Poros. It will be reserved for family and will be our hub for the week. Itinerary

Feel free to arrive any day that is convenient for you. We hope you will join us in the festivities leading up to the wedding! Tuesday May 26th 5pmJoin us in the evening at the Odyssey for a welcome party with traditional Greek appetizers, refreshing drinks, and lively music. Attire: Dressy casual Friday May 29th 7:30pmWe’ll begin at 6pm with a family rehearsal dinner at the Odyssey, then continue the celebration with a cocktail party for all — complete with Greek desserts, music and dancing! Attire: Beachy but dressy. For men, jackets and ties are not required. Saturday May 30th 5pmJoin us at The Farm for our wedding ceremony, with dinner and dancing to follow under the stars. Cocktail attire— Think Mama Mia! You can make it light, breezy, and colorful. We love linen or lightweight suits for men. No ties required—just cheerful looks perfect for celebrating by the sea. LADIES- Please wear chunky heels, wedges, or flats. Thin heels are not ideal on the cobblestone. Sunday May 31st 10:30amJoin us for brunch at the Odyssey, then spend the day unwinding by the beach or pool. Attire: Feel free to roll out of bed in whatever you are comfortable in, but bring your bathing suits! There are so many fun activities we want to share with you! It would be impossible to fit them all in so we are suggesting our very favorites. As the big day gets closer, we will finalize which day and time the following activities will be offered. -Walking tour of the city including the famous clock tower, archaeological museum, and waterfront-Sunset cruise around Poros Island-Cooking class at the Odyssey Eco Farm-Yoga on The Farm-Boat/fishing trip-Massages

Travel Tips for Greece 🇬🇷

Getting There- The Athens airport has a metro directly across the street that takes you into the city center. - Book your ferry from Athens to Poros here: <a href="https://www.ferryhopper.com/en/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://www.ferryhopper.com/en/</a>You will want to leave from Piraeus, Athens and arrive in Poros. (NOT Poros Kefalonia) -Please double check you are booking for Poros and not Paros. Before You Go- Greece uses Type C (small electronics) and Type F (larger devices) outlets — bring an adapter. - If you’re prone to motion sickness, pack Dramamine for ferry or boat rides. - WiFi can be spotty, so you may want to download an eSIM app (like Airalo) before arriving. Money- Cash is helpful on the island. - Visa and Mastercard are widely accepted, along with Apple Pay. - If prompted to choose between EUR or USD, always select EUR for the best rate. - Tipping is appreciated, but it’s common to simply round up a few euros rather than tip a set percentage. Water &amp; Plumbing- In many places, toilet paper cannot be flushed — check with your hotel. - Tap water varies by location. Confirm with your hotel and keep a water bottle handy. What to Pack- SPF 50+ (the Greek sun is strong! Pharmacies are great if you forget.) - Water shoes or sturdy sandals for rocky beaches. - Comfortable shoes for cobblestone streets (heels aren’t ideal). - A light jacket or sweater for evenings. Expect daytime temps in the mid-70s and evenings in the upper-60s.
