We’re so excited to have you with us! If you’re making a trip out of it, there’s plenty to explore in the area. Here are some ideas for things to do around town:

Clear Creek Whitewater Park in Golden

Try rafting or tubing in Clear Creek for some fun on the water. You can also walk along the creek path or swim if you drive further up highway 6 (do some research to ensure the current is slow enough).

Local Breweries in Golden

Golden’s home to Coors Brewery (big tours available) and plenty of local craft breweries like Cannonball Creek and Golden City Brewery.

Evergreen Lake

Rent a canoe or paddleboard, enjoy the view, or just relax by the lake. There is also a golf course and some trails right next to the lake.

Golden’s Historic District

Cute shops, great food, and feel like you're in a western movie. Check out the Golden History Museum if you’ve got some free time. Get dinner/drinks at the Golden Mill, Mountain Toad Brewery, or somewhere else in town.

Evergreen’s Main Street

A charming little town with local art galleries, cozy cafes, and scenic spots to relax. Get some Colorado style pizza at Beau Jo's.

Lookout Mountain Nature Preserve

A quick drive from Golden, with a nature center, views and some great trails for all levels.

Golden Gate State Park

Around 30 minutes from downtown Golden. The trails in this state park are more forested and shady. If you want some fresh air without the hiking, you can drive to Panorama Point.

Red Rocks in Morrison

Famous for concerts, but also offers amazing trails. The Trading Post Trail is a solid, easy hike with vibrant red desert scenery. Wear sunscreen for this one in particular, and maybe go in the morning to stay cool.
