We grew up attending First Baptist Church of Euless (now known as Cross City Church) with our families. Although we were in such close proximity to each other for years we did not notice each other until I was in 8th grade and Keith in 9th. His first message to me was a charming "what's up girl" from his friends phone. From there we remained friends though most of high school, but never showing our true feelings for each other. Shortly after my 18th birthday I reached out to Keith, after not speaking for a few months, which led to us spending more and more time with each other. It felt as though we had always had a spark and we were now finally letting it show.
It has been nearly 4 years since then and we are so excited for life ahead of us.
I knew a proposal was coming soon, we had looked at rings together had spoken about it in depth. But somehow i was still taken by surprise. Keith and I were in Manitou Springs, Colorado for a festival on October 28th, 2023. It was freezing and snowing the entire day. We were planning to be in town until our dinner reservations that evening. We were watching the parade and Keith suggests that when we're heading to dinner later we should take pictures...which would not be out of the norm for me to say, but for him it was odd. That evening arrives, we're all dressed up, we head to the gazebo to take pictures. I set my phone up on the steps and turn around, there he is on one knee with tears in his eyes asking me to marry him. Snow was falling, it was perfect.
