Rachel met Jack when she went to the University of Minnesota (ski u mah, row the boat, go gophs!) Her friend Grace, his cousin, set them up and they went on a couple dates. They watched some basketball, played pickleball, and played mini golf, and then called it quits.

They stayed friends and were in the same friend group. With their friends, they played some more pickleball, had many post U-of-M-football-game bonfires, started some epic impromptu dance parties, and played midnight tennis golf.

Eventually, Rachel knew he was the one and told her friend Abby that if he didn't ask her out she'd die. Jack, of course, was delighted because Rachel is his dream girl. Everything he could ask for in a woman! On one of their first dates, Jack and Rachel went to bars in Stillwater, MN, with their friends. A week later Jack asked Rachel to swing dance in the rain in a parking lot. On another date, he planned a picnic with all her favorite things and they watched airplanes take off from the airport. Soon after, he took her back to Stillwater and dropped to one knee.
