The summer of 2015, started off with one of Rachel's friends, trying to set Rachel up with one of her boyfriend's friends that were stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC. Rachel and her friend would constantly FaceTime her friend's boyfriend, and there was George. George was Rachel's friend's boyfriend's roommate.

George and Rachel started to text and get to know each other. Not soon after that, Rachel and her friend decided to take a trip down to Camp Lejeune and then to Myrtle Beach to meet up with the guys. George and Rachel got to know each other and he made the relationship official on the beach in Myrtle Beach, SC.

After about two years of the long distance relationship, driving back and forth to see each other on long weekends, and trying to keep up with each other's busy schedules while 600 miles apart, George and Rachel had started to plan for George to come and live in Pittsburgh in April of 2017. In April , Rachel flew down to North Carolina, to pack up George, their new puppy, and drive back from North Carolina to Pittsburgh. All stuffed into George's two door Jeep Wrangler. Together, they have started a life together with their two puppies, Charlie and Winston! Since coming to Pittsburgh, they have moved out of their small one bedroom apartment into their own home, started and advanced in their careers, and continue to look forward to their future together.
