Our Wedding

Trevor’s perspective of our first meeting:    I first met Rachel on, I believe Thursday night Oct. 2, 2021. A friend and I went out on the town to relax. We first were at a bar and grill named Charlie’s, which we always attend for the food, to play some pool, and chill with the guys. Around 10:00 or 10:30, we left Charlie’s and headed downtown to a club called The Verve.     As we made our way through the club, I noticed a beautiful woman with big curly hair sitting with her friend where the guys and I would normally sit. We continued to move throughout the crowd of people and around the dance floor to see who was there and check out the scene. After making a circle, we stopped at the bar and ordered drinks. My friend Rameriz made his way to a girl that he knew, and I made my way over to the tables where we normally hung out. As I glanced to my left, I noticed Rachel's curly hair out my peripherals.   Knowing me, I wasn’t going to speak until I analyzed whether or not she was with a boyfriend. During that time, a college girl who was drunk, started standing on the bar stool in front me and she started to lean backwards towards me. I wasn’t trying to catch her in my lap, so I started leaning towards Rachel. I looked at her to see if she seemed to mind me moving closer to get out the was in case this girl fell back. Rachel turned to me and jokingly asked if I was going to catch the girl, and I replied absolutely not! This girl knew what could happen and I’m not saving her or something along those lines.   Following that, I introduced myself and asked for her name in return. She gave it and we proceeded to have a very interesting conversation about what she was doing in Terre Haute, school, my kids, and life. Of course, I asked if she had a man, to which she said no and that she only dated for marriage. We had a good conversation about God and our beliefs which both lined up. She was way more mature than all the women I’ve met.   After that it was history.

Rachel's perspective of our first meeting:    On Oct. 2, 2021, a friend and I were going out to see a show and see what all Terre Haute had to offer. I had just moved there for school and she was commuting down for classes. Our show ended up not being worth the trip. We left and decided to go to this little bar/club across the street from my apartment to check out the local scene, since we were already dressed and out exploring.    We had gotten in and had sat down at little corner table to just observe and have a couple drinks. As we were sitting there I saw Trevor and a friend enter the club looking like they were checking out the scene.    They made a circle through the place and we forgot about them until I saw Trevor come back out to get a drink and sit down. He came and sat at the table next to us and I was pretending to not even notice. My friend kept saying he was looking over at me, but I didn't believe her.    During that time, a small group got a little crazy at the front chairs of his table, and girl almost fell off the chair she was standing on into his lap. I started laughing at the unamused face he was making and as he leaned my way to avoid her falling on him we started talking. I asked him if he was going to catch her and he said absolutely not.    We introduced ourselves and started up a conversation. I didn't believe him when he told me how old he was or that he had three kids. He looked so young and it was a shock. We had some great discussions about family, school, life, beliefs, and future careers.    We ended the night and exchanged numbers. I didn't know if he would ever reach out, but I received a text within thirty minutes and conversations and hangouts with friends continued through the following weeks.     After a few weeks of friendly hangouts and dates, we went to the Marine Corp ball together, and the rest was history.
