Our Wedding

Ben and Rachel first met at CrossWoods Adventure Camp in 2021, though they didn't start dating until 2023. God had a different plan for the two of them in the meantime. Ben was going to school at STOUT and Rachel was pursuing her nursing degree, their two lives taking separate paths (for now). They worked together at camp the next summer as well and became fast friends but once again, left that summer behind and went their separate ways. Then, in January of 2023, they reconnected and started to hang out, re-learning the other as friends and simply figuring out where the other was at in life. Finally, on the evening of Rachel's nursing ceremony (and with a little bit of prompting from Rachel), Ben finally asked her out on a date for that Saturday- May 6th, 2023. They spent that summer together at camp, and quickly figured each other out, growing closer to each other and to our loving God each day. Then, on July 29th of 2023, Ben told Rachel that he loved her for the first time while they were on a day trip in Duluth, MN (and Rachel was very excited to say it back:) As the months passed, they continued to grow deeper in love with each other, with our Creator, and with their Catholic faith. Finally, on July 26th, 2024, almost a year after telling her he loved her, Ben proposed to Rachel. He asked her in that exact same spot in Duluth on the beautiful beach, right by the water (and of course Rachel said yes!). Ben asked her to marry him on the feast day of Saint Anne and Saint Joachim, the parents of our Virgin Mother Mary. It was simple, beautiful, and so perfect. Ben and Rachel are so excited to get married and live out their lives together with God's grace and their Catholic faith forever at their center :) The most important part of their story? Seeing how good and loving our God is. His timing, His plan and His ways are always perfect :)
