Alex and I met in April of 2021. We were both working night shift at Corewell Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI. Alex was working his first nursing job on a progressive heart unit and I was working in the cardiac cath lab. One of the few perks of working the night shift are early morning third shift bar specials. We had mutual friends that wanted to go to Logans Alley, a bar famous for their loaded tater tots and cheap house lagers. We talked about our shifts and the rumors of what this new pandemic would mean for us on the front lines. We left the bar to go our separate ways and a few days later I got a text from my friend saying Alex had asked her for my number. I happily agreed and we went on our first date later that week! Three years later here we are! Alex proposed on December 2nd, 2023 at Frederick Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids. We are members there and enjoy going to see all the flowers and butterflies, it was a special day for the both of us. Over the past three years, Alex bought a cute house and we moved in together. We have done a ton of renovations on our house and enjoy doing projects together. In February of 2023 we adopted our first fur baby, Ivy. She is an Australian Shepard and the joy and energizer bunny of our lives. In March of 2024 we adopted Echo. He is a Black Lab and Border Collie mix. He is a sweet boy that is also full of energy! Echo is the perfect addition to our family! We have traveled to Arizona, Hawaii, and Colorado together. We love to hike and want to visit as many National Parks as we can. Alex and I have many goals and happy memories ahead of us and we are thrilled to start our journey as partners in life. We cant thank each and every one enough for all the love and support you have shown us over the years! 7.13.24 will be an incredible day we will never forget and we are so excited to celebrate!
