Our Wedding

September 30, 2017, Ezra messaged Rachel back&nbsp; on Ok Cupid and so began a story of queer adventure and love.Ezra, known by the online handle of SnarklyArtly, and Rachel, known as Rachowl, decided to meet up after several weeks of talking online and go on a date. The plan was to go to Art Prize, so the duo met up at the fountain by the Grand Valley Downtown Campus. As luck would have it, the City wide Art festival had ended the week prior. Still, they had met up so the duo figured they would continue their date while Rachel questioned if this was indeed a date despite Ezra's not so subtle insistence on the word 'date' at least a handful of times while they walked around the city and enjoyed coffee at , ironically, The Bitter End.Rachel and Ezra went on several dates between October 16th and December 8th before they officially became a couple somewhere in the ether between the 8th and 9th of December.One aspect that each of the couple remarked on several times through their dating, and even to this day, is how easy it was with one another. Both asked "Is it supposed to be this easy and seamless, falling in love?" The answer? Evidently it was. As they each learned more about themselves and one another, Rachel and Ezra grew closer together, creating memories and insane jokes that brought about one of their ever-present quips. "This [relationship] wouldn't work if either of us were normal."Roughly two years into their relationship, the couple moved in together along with other friends. This would be a life saver and great help when the pandemic started several months later. Just days after they brought home their first fur baby, a small white and orange elderly cat they named Pumpkin.Two moves, several years, and twelve house offers later, the couple was extremely fortunate to close on a house of their own. When Pumpkin passed due to older age and health issues, they introduced two, much larger, fluff balls into their lives, a tripod cat named Storm/Rainstorm/ Stormageddon/ Etc. and his 'brother' , a traumatized Victorian Era child, Echo.The couple had been looking at rings and engagement ideas for years, and finally at the end of August 2024, on a trip to Quebec Canada, Ezra proposed in front of La Chute-Montmorency, or the Montmorency Falls just outside of Quebec City. (See Photos for this trip!)While the couple planned on getting married a year or two later, fate had different plans for the betrotheds. With concerns mounting in the political climate we now face, the couple decided they would get married on Christmas Day. Fortunately, Rachel's parents had asked to come up for the holidays before the wedding had been announced to anyone outside of the couple. After some discussion and quick planning, the immediate families of both Krawchuks and Richters as well as a close friend of Rachel and Ezra's gathered at a local park after opening presents and began the ceremony. Jared, one of Ezra's brothers, officiated the wedding and made both of the soon-to-be-wedded shed tears of joy and love.After, they had a Christmas Story-esque dinner at a Chinese buffet before gathering back at the newly-weds home for the small after party.Now, we prepare for a full blown celebration with loved ones from all periods of each the Bride’s and her Spouse’s lives. Quebec Engagement Trip 2024

Our trip to Quebec City, Quebec where Ezra proposed to Rachel by the Montmorency Falls and various other adventures.

Traverse City Trip 

We visited Traverse City during their Cherry Fest which happened to fall on Ezra's Birthday. We spent our last day in the lavender fields and did U Pick of English Lavender to bring home.

A Christmas Wedding

Rachel and Ezra joined together legally on December 25th 2024. It was a small ceremony with our immediate families and one dear friend who was able to help us on our special day.May 9th, 2026 will be the day we are able to celebrate our love and previous union with more friends and family. We can't wait to see you all!

Their deadline for reserving a room for one or both of the dates is Wednesday April 8th. The room rate is per night. There are 9 rooms they're reserving for us, though more may be able to be added if needed. And the room types are two queen size beds.Check in time is 4:00 p.m. and check out time is 11:00 a.m. NO NOISE POLICY:To ensure a peaceful and enjoyable stay for all our guests, we kindly ask that all guests observe our No NoisePolicy. This means strictly maintaining quiet from 10PM till 7AM during your hotel stay, and refraining fromgatherings in public areas both indoor and outdoor.
