A Georgia boy through and through, Zach spent his childhood growing up in the South. Thanks to his Uncle living in Colorado, he was able to visit and soon fell in love with the state. Enough so that he moved to Colorado and attended the University of Colorado Boulder, but will always be rooting for the DAWGS!

Both of Rachel’s parents served for the United States Air Force, which came with many moves. The Kriete family settled in Colorado Springs where Rachel calls home. She later attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins, and often reminds Zach of which school is better.

Fast forward a few years, Zach graduated from Boulder and moved down to Denver and Rachel started nursing school in Denver. The weekend of St. Patricks day, 2020, Rachel and her best friend decided to take a break from studying and go out downtown. Zach and his friends decided they deserved a fun night out to decompress from their work week.

Rachel and Bri were leaving a bar, and Rachel (being the most graceful person) decided to run across the street, almost getting hit by a car, but safely arriving on the otherside where Zach was standing. Zach (her knight and shining armor) noticed Rachel nearly getting clipped by a car. As any gentleman would, Zach asked if she was ok, stating how that was a close call. Zach asked what bar the girls were heading to next, and miraculously that was the bar they were heading to (wink, wink). Little did they know, the girls were onto their plan, and the rest is history.

Over the next few months, Denver was shut down due to COVID-19, but that did not stop Rachel and Zach from spending as much time together as they could. They cherished the long nights they spent talking, the dinners made together, playing board games (even making their own), and all the laughs through a difficult time. Rachel’s first love, her fur baby, Thor, accompanied Rachel and Zach on all their park dates and movie nights, while winning over Zach’s love. They quickly realized that God placed them in each others lives for a reason, giving each of them a best friend and lover.

Present day, the three of them are happily living in Colorado. They reflect on all the things they have been through, but more than anything are excited about their future family, careers, traveling and doing this crazy thing called life together.
