If you have never had the pleasure, the North Shore of Lake Superior is one of the most beautiful places in the U.S. where the untamed Northwoods meet the mighty Great Lakes. Duluth marks the doorway to the Nor' Shore (as the locals say) one of the last true wildernesses. Rachel & Rex have been visiting the North Shore as long as they can remember, enjoying the summer evenings in Grand Marais and the winter days on the Lutsen slopes. We are excited to introduce, or welcome back, our guests to this unique city and truly unforgettable region.

Duluth has a number of hotels, inns, B&Bs. and vacation rentals to accommodate all guests, however the summer months are busy. While we will have a limited number of rooms blocked off at several hotels in Duluth, most hotels in the city do not accept room blocks during the summer. We encourage everyone to book earlier to ensure that you are able to secure accommodations that will best fit your needs.

The ceremony and reception will both be held indoors. But the front lawn and the terrace of the Kitchi Gammi Club will be available to guests during all parts of the day.

Temperatures for Duluth in June typically hover around the mid-70s. However, due to its proximity to Lake Superior, one of the coldest lakes in the world, temperatures can dip into the mid-50s, though this is unusual. Conversely, temperatures in late June can also reach into the high 80s. Your best bet? Make sure to check the weather a few days before you leave, and pack accordingly! While Minnesota is infamous for its brutal winters, it makes up for it with its beautiful summers.

Yes, there is ample free parking available at the Kitchi Gammi Club. However, the KGC is also within walking distance (provided you aren't wearing heels) of the two hotels where we have blocked rooms.

We ask that all guests take time to disconnect during the ceremony and put away their phones. We will have a professional photographer documenting the day so you can join us in the celebration. During the reception please take whatever photos you'd like and share them.
