It was May of 2022, counselors were slowly arriving to Summer's Best Two Weeks in preparations for a summer of serving campers. Jordan saw a familiar face in Rachel since they both worked at camp the previous summer. For the next month, Jordan managed to find open seats next to Rachel in the dinning hall and extra time to pass by her activities she led for campers. All the while Rachel started to receive anonymous encouraging notes.

Soon enough, Jordan was dancing with Rachel at Surprise Night and giving her daily fist bumps.

All this was building up to the end of Summer One at camp.

Rachel and Jordan have a competitive spirit with each other. They had been making bets on who would win in a basketball game with Jordan over estimating his athletic ability against a former basketball player. Then when Rachel was playing basketball with a group of counselors, Jordan just had to join with his enthusiasm to be around his camp crush.

After the game they had a sushi dinner together, a movie night and three hours of talking together under the stars.

The next day, Jordan invited Rachel to join him on errands for the day off. As their time together wrapped Jordan found the courage to ask Rachel on a date.

On July 4, 2024, with the help of Brittany and Jon Ledyard, Jordan brought a gourmet charcuterie board dinner for the two of them for their first date with a scenic view. They also spontaneously stopped to watch some fourth of July fireworks! On July 22, 2022, while sitting in the Adventure Fort, Rachel and Jordan decided to pursue a relationship.

Their next year while Rachel was in her Senior year of college and Jordan was looking for a job and eventually started the police academy, they were 5 hours apart. They spent a lot of hours driving to each other and particularly ate a lot of sushi. After Rachel graduated, they were only 45 minutes apart, and spent a lot more time together going to amusement parks, hiking, dancing and movie dates!

The next fall Rachel moved to Charlotte, North Carolina for a 9-month fellows program and Jordan was working as a full time police officer. Although living very different lives, they were able to find the time to visit each other once a month. This time was not easy but grew their hearts fonder.

After Rachel moved back up to Pennsylvania, the two had some time being closer together that led to their confidence about their desire for engagement and marriage!

On July 10, 2024 Jordan got down on one knee and popped the question, and Rachel gladly said yes! It was special to have their family and some friends to surprise her and celebrate!

And now Jordan and Rachel look forward to celebrating with you all on their wedding day!
