Will's Perspective

Our journey began at Indiana University (go Hoosiers!) during our senior year of college. We first met on a night out at our favorite bar at IU, Kilroys, as our paths crossed through mutual friends. A few days after meeting, I realized that I needed to find a date for an upcoming date party, and Rachel kept coming to my mind. I finally mustered up the courage to ask her, and (thankfully) she said yes. We had a great night, and I ended up asking her on a little date a few days later. We went on a hike up to Griffey Lake, where we talked and laughed and it was at that moment where I knew I had found something special.

As I look back on these days, asking Rachel to that date party was the single best decision I have made in my life. I had found not only the most fun and caring partner, but also an adventurer, a concert lover, an amazing dog mom, and most importantly my best friend.

Rachel’s Perspective

It all started at IU, at a pregame before Kilroy’s, as all great things do. I remember having my eye on will, but it took a couple of rounds of Vegas bombs to work up the courage to actually talk to him. Finally, once we did, I knew I was interested right away, but of course played it cool (checked my phone every minute the entire next week for a text from an unknown 812 number).

I knew they had a date party coming up, and finally, during my M300-something marketing class, I GOT THE TEXT!!!! (We are love island fans).

Fast forward to the date party, we had the best time at a haunted house in our curious George costume that I am still proud of us pulling together after a week of knowing each other. After that night, I knew that Will was going to be a big part of my life. he has been the best partner, dog dad, adventure buddy, co-couch relaxer, chef, barista, and more. I’m so thankful for him and excited to start our next chapter!
