Q + A
Is there a shuttle?
Yes! We will provide a complimentary party bus and the Golf Course shuttle to take guests to and from the venue. Pick up locations will include The Crossroads hotel, Big Sandy Lodge and Fisherman's Bay Restaurant. If yo uwould like to use a shuttle be ready for pickup between 3:40 and 4:15 pm.
Please do not drink and drive.
When do I need to RSVP by?
Please RSVP by March 16th at the latest. If you do not RSVP we will not have a seat reserved for you. Be sure to respond to ALL events, including the ceremony and the reception. Click the "RSVP" on this site to RSVP.
I am Gluten Free is there any food options for me at the dinner?
YES. Rachel is gluten free as well, so there will most certainly be delicious gluten free food AND dessert. Please indicate your allergy on the RSVP so we can make sure to have enough.
Where can I stay that's close to the venue?
We recommend Crossroads hotel in McGregor or The big Sandy Lodge, both are within 10 minutes of the venue. May is not peak season so rates are lower than usual. If you have an RV or Camper, there is also campsites available at the MN National Golf Course for $49/night. Campsite reservations start January 13th, 2025. Camp sites are also available at Fisherman's Bay. There are select Air B and B's around the area. Be sure to book your rooms and campsites early! If you ask around, you probably know someone with a cabin on Big Sandy.
Trouble finding a place to stay? Some nearby areas include Palisade, Aitkin, and Tamarack.
What’s good to eat around here?
McGregor are has quite a few local watering holes. We recommend The Craft House for Minnesota local craft beer and liquor (they have a few popular light beers as well if you’re not feelin’ fancy--Bush, Coors and McGolden light) we highly recommend the smoke infused old fashioned cocktail.
Zorbaz is also a popular favorite for unique pizzas and Mexican food- we don’t get that combo either. It’s located on the flowage (big sandy river). They also have pool table and a buck hunter video game.
If you’re staying at Crossroads hotel, Buckhorn in town is a classic local dive bar with great pizza and a variety of other great eats. You can also get a hearty breakfast here too.
Speaking of breakfast- The Roasting House Cafe is great for fellow gluten sensitive friends. You can find breakfast and lunch options there. They are celiac friendly as well.
Looking for burgers? Fisherman’s is a great option. Eagle Point (located in the campround) offers good food with a view of Big Sandy Lake.
Keep in mind the people working at these places are likely friends of ours so make sure to bring your Minnesota nice 😊 May is not peak season so many restaurants are operating understaffed and may not be prepared for the influx of patrons for the wedding. We thank you for being patient!
Where is the afterparty?
We will end the night at Zorbaz! They will be open until 1 am.
