Our Story 1

2015 - Now

Round I - Round II

We met on January 4, 2014 at a youth event at our church. We had known of each other for a while, but never been friends in the same group. From that day on we began a close friendship lasting many years and many life changes/challenges.

We didn't start dating until Summer of 2015, that "round" as we call it lasted 11 months. Those months were fun and exciting, but also a bit challenging and eye-opening. Although we grew to love each other, and had much in common, there were some things that we couldn't work through. We were both young and in the end, broke up to work on ourselves...

We were broken up for good (or so we thought) - in reality it lasted 7 months. Caleb's father passed away during that time, which caused some stark realizations that turned his views and life goals around. From then on we slowly began seeing each other in group/family settings, attempting to build our friendship back up.

After some time, we decided to give our relationship another try and started dating for "round II" in December of 2016. I think by February of 2017 we both knew that we were absolutely right for one another and and honestly had never been happier :) God worked in huge ways while we were apart and then brought us back together in perfect harmony. We couldn't be more grateful for our story, and are so excited to celebrate the beginning of our marriage with friends and family in April!

The Proposal

4|29|2018

Caleb absolutely blew me away with this incredibly romantic, thoughtful, and surprising proposal.

He told me we were going to his house (childhood home/property that had recently been sold) to do a final walkthrough with his family for memory's sake. After that we were planning to go to a nearby restaurant for dinner. I believed him and got all dressed up for our night. We stopped by his new home so he could get ready and change from "work" (he was actually setting up the proposal all day, but sneakily put on his work uniform to fool me).

I noticed that he was driving very calmly and wasn't saying much, which was not like him. But I was distracted by the sad fact that I knew the proposal was not going to happen that night - because my whole family had plans (or so I thought).

Once we finally arrived at his home I was still trying to get myself together so I wouldn't look too upset about the proposal *not* happening. Once we walked in the door I was completely shell-shocked. He had beautifully decorated his empty home with rose petals, lights, string with old receipts/notes/photos, candles, ribbon, baby's breath, and dozens and dozens of stemmed roses. We walked through the pathway out to the back deck where he had an arbor waiting (which he put together himself), the words "Marry Me" written out in blocks, more rose petals, candles, flowers, and a little pink box on the table.

He kneeled down and asked me to be his forever, I said YES and put on the most stunning piece of jewelry I've ever seen.

We are so excited to celebrate this next step in our lives with all of those we love dearly in April. Thank you for your kind words, texts, and gifts, we are so grateful!
