What about COVID-19?
We are planning to host both a church wedding and indoor/outdoor patio reception in Ann Arbor in July 2021. The CDC, Health & Human Services Department, and Michigan Governor's latest guidance will allow us to have a restriction-free wedding, as of May 24th. Although we will not be requiring any mitigation measures for our guests, we are happy to accommodate those who wish to wear masks and/or social distance. The bride & groom are fully vaccinated and encourage others to do the same so that we can all celebrate together!
Will there be an open bar?
Open bar!
Complete with late night bonus food and an awesome DJ. We encourage our in-town guests to also grab a hotel room in our block with friends, or plan on ubering. The bride and groom will be staying late too, so come to party!
What do I do during the gap hour between ceremony & reception?
The reception doors will open at 6pm with hors d'oeuvres and bar before the wedding party enters at 7pm. Between 5 and 6 pm, we encourage everyone to head back to your hotel room (steps away from the reception) to freshen up, take a quick nap, or explore west Ann Arbor. If you would like to enjoy an early drink, the bride and groom recommend HOMES Brewery (3 minutes from Weber's) or the The Habitat bar & lounge attached to Weber's Hotel where the reception will take place. Keep in mind that we will be serving hors d'oeuvres, a full dinner, dessert, and late night snacks, so don't fill up too fast!
What should I wear?
Whatever you'd want pictures of yourself dancing in! We encourage summer cocktail dresses, & sport coat and tie or suit if you'd rather have a guide.
I'm a guest flying in, should I rent a car?
If you want to explore outside of Ann Arbor (Detroit or the rest of Michigan), yes. If you are planning on staying around Ann Arbor for your entire trip, most amenities are a short Uber/Lyft ride or a pleasant summer walk away. See the Travel page for more details.
Will there be a shuttle?
Unfortunately, we are not able to offer a shuttle from the ceremony to the reception. However, the two venues are 7 minutes apart by car, or if you're really enjoying the Michigan summer, a 35 minute walk with an awesome brewery at the halfway point (HOMES Brewery Ann Arbor)! If not, we recommend Uber/Lyft to take you downtown to shop (10min) or back to the hotel for a quick snooze.
