Our Wedding

We met at a mutual friends birthday party in January 2018. Rachel worked up the courage to ask where Steve worked when one of their friends said he was also an accountant. After a few hours of talking and playing games while we were out, we exchanged numbers. From there on, the intrigue, and talking and texting did not stop. As Steve wanted to know more, he asked Rachel out on their first date, even though he knew it would be tough as it was during busy season (tax season). Hours of discussion of getting to know more about one another led to realizing how much their families had in common and one big rivalry brewing, she was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan and Steve was a Cleveland Browns fan. Steve and Rachel were both in awe of how well one another meshed with each other’s friends right away. There was not a lot of adjustment period time needed. The similar tastes in humor definitely helped. Both of us fell in love with each other’s families instantly with such ease of fitting in with one another. As time had gone on, Steve knew he had a keeper. He began thinking of ways to propose to Rachel, consulting friends, and both families. Steve decided to do it when Rachel and himself were going on vacation with her parents to myrtle beach for a few days. The day had come to when Steve wanted to propose but weather had effected timing at night when a major thunderstorm rolled through the area and foiled the plan. The next day it would happen one way or another, hoping for a window of nice weather with the forecast not looking good. As it rained all morning, it looked bleak but once the afternoon hit, the sun came out. As we were making our way out to dinner, Steve suggested to take a walk on the beach to see the sunset. As another storm was rolling into the area and the wind was howling off of the ocean, he knew he was running out of time. Once Steve found a nice area of the beach, he stopped, grabbed Rachel’s hands, began to talk (nervously), and asked her mom for the ring that she had so graciously kept hidden so rachel did not notice. Shocked, as Steve got on one knee, Rachel said yes, and the rest is history.
