Justin and Rachel meet on the first day of Grade 9 during orientation. Rachel remembers spotting Justin across the cafeteria, and instantly thinking he was the cutest guy she had ever seen. Later that day, they realized they were in the same religion class, and suddenly going to school seemed a lot more exciting. Rachel noticed Justin because of his friendly smile and pretty eyes, and Justin noticed Rachel because of her loud and contagious personality (emphasis on the loud).

They stayed friends through Grade 9, but things shifted in Grade 10 when they ended up in the same dance class. Justin finally worked up the courage to ask Rachel out—armed with a ring pop, because nothing says romance like candy jewelry. Their first date was skating: Justin, being a hockey player, was effortless on the ice… Rachel, on the other hand, nearly took out the boards.

From there, they racked up a decade of memories—prom, graduating high school, surviving college, and traveling to places like Nashville and the Dominican. In 2023, they bought their first home, and not long after, Rachel convinced Justin to get a dog, Freddy (who now runs the household).

Then in February 2025, Justin proposed by recreating their first date on the ice—only this time, it wasn’t Rachel’s skating skills that knocked her off her feet.

After 10 years together, they’ve grown up side by side, navigated the highs and lows, and are ready to take on the next chapter—probably still with Rachel talking too loud and Justin smiling through it.
