Suhith and Rachel met in the summer of 2016 in Milwaukee. Suhith worked at a chocolate shop in the Third Ward called Red Elephant where a friend of Rachel’s also worked. Suhith and Rachel decided to make it official on August 13th, 2016 on a trip up north.

Until recently, the last time Suhith and Rachel lived in the same city was the summer of 2016 when they met. Suhith remained in Milwaukee for several years while he finished his degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Rachel was 6 hours southwest in Des Moines, IA working on her degree from Drake University. After Suhith completed his degree, he decided to go active duty in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Miami, FL in 2019. Rachel also moved south after completing her degree in 2021 to Dallas, TX for her residency. The army moved Suhith from Miami, FL to Minneapolis, MN in 2021 and Rachel was finally able to join him in 2023 after completing her residency.

#1: Storm Cloud a.k.a. STORM a.k.a. Stormi B

Suhith adopted storm from the Pembroke Pines Humane Society in 2019 when she was just 6 months old. Storm did a great job keeping Suhith company throughout the pandemic. Storm's favorite things are her cat tree, bacon-flavored calming treats, dry food, and being an only-cat. Suhith and Rachel tried to introduce Storm and Vivi, but things did not go as planned. Since then, Storm has become a permanent resident at the Paulmann house, which she has enjoyed very much.

#2: Vivian a.k.a. Vivi a.k.a. Vivers

Rachel adopted Vivi in January of 2022 from the Dallas Humane Society. Vivi was a great companion for Rachel when she was feeling lonely in Dallas. Vivi’s favorite things are salmon treats, wet food, bird watching, and sleeping in Suhith’s shorts drawer.

#3: Nyssa a.k.a. Miss Nyss a.k.a. Tiny

Rachel and Suhith adopted Nyssa from the Minneapolis Humane Society in August of 2023. Nyssa was adopted at only 4 months old and has real kitten and orange cat energy. Nyssa’s favorite things are playing with her sister, any hanging strings, people food, and attacking Suhith’s feet while he sleeps.

Suhith proposed to Rachel on Christmas Day in 2022 outside of Benelux restaurant in the third ward where they had their first date 6 years prior. Suhith and Rachel worked together to make Rachel her dream ring. Rachel’s mother had recently updated her engagement ring and offered her diamond (which also happened to be Rachel’s great-grandmother's ring before). The couple gratefully accepted the family heirloom diamond and had it set at a local jeweler. Not only did Rachel receive a ring from her side of the family, she was lucky enough to also receive a very special wedding ring from Suhith’s ammama.
