Rachel is the only one who remembers how she and Andrew met. Apparently, it was not love at first sight for him…
Freshman year, they were introduced by their mutual friend, Alex Hurrle, off a front porch at the University of Dayton during a day drink. It was a short meeting, but they would see each other around for the next 3 years because of Alex.
After being in the friend zone for years, Rachel had convinced Andrew go out with her. She was in an elective class where her final assignment was to ask out a crush on a date that she would fully plan. Andrew of course said yes to a date at Young's Dairy where they pet some goats, ate cheese curds, and where Andrew could show off his baseball swing in the batting cages.
The first 3 years of their relationship following graduation from UD consisted of navigating long distance while Rachel was working towards her Doctorate at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska and Andrew working in Columbus, Ohio. The frequent Flyers quickly became priority members on Southwest Airlines because of their monthly (or more) trips to see each other. For some, long distance does not work. However, for them, it made them stronger and ready to tackle anything and everything, together.
After graduation, Rachel officially joined Andrew back in the Buckeye State. They eventually got their first apartment together in Italian Village and shortly after, adopted the best doggo around, Nora. On March 9th, 2024 they got engaged at their Grandview Heights home surrounded by close family, Nora, and Rachel's homemade lasagna.
They cannot wait to celebrate with you all on September 12th and make that day their forever anniversary.
