During the summer of 2020, COVID was putting a pause on the fun Kevin and Rachel both individually planned to have their first summers in living in Chicago. Kevin was building his career at Ace Hardware and Rachel was off for the summer after her first year of teaching 1st grade. Looking for a fun activity to participate in, Kevin and his friends at Ace decided to join an intramural co-ed softball league in Lincoln Park. However, there was a problem: they needed more girls to complete the roster on their team. The group of friends Kevin made at Ace included one of Rachel's best friends from high school, Giuliana (shout out!). Giuliana did not want to play but asked all her friends if anyone had any interest. She persuaded us with the fact that her own parents met on an intramural sports team and said, "maybe one of you will meet your husband!". Rachel decided to join the team and spent the rest of the summer playing on Thursday nights and celebrating at the local Ranalli's afterwards. Lucky for her, she caught the eye of the third baseman, and the rest was history!

We are so grateful for all of the family and friends that have been a part of our story and supported us along the way. We already love this life we have created and cannot wait for what our future holds together!
