Rachel & Andrew

Our Story

Rachel and Andrew started their journey circa 2013 when they met each other at Georgia College & State University in the city of dreams also known as Milledgeville, GA. The two were friends and stayed in touch even after Andrew moved to Lexington, KY to attend UK while Rachel remained at GCSU. About halfway through Senior year and after a few slightly-more-formal-than-Sonic-milkshake dates, Andrew asked Rachel to be his girlfriend. She accepted and the two started what seemed like a lifelong period of long-distance dating (5 years & 5 months to be exact).

After many long solo car rides, standby flights (Shoutout to Delta parents) and anxiously awaiting holidays where they were in the state, the two graduated from college and continued their long-distance relationship with Rachel living in Johns Creek as an Ophthalmic Technician prepping for Medical School and Andrew starting his soap-filled career with Ecolab in McDonough, GA.

After about a year, Rachel was almost shunned from the Liedberg household by showing up in an orange & blue T-Shirt announcing she was accepted into VCOM Medical Program and would be moving to Auburn, AL to become a doctor. Andrew simultaneously moved closer into Atlanta and decided to pursue his MBA. The two young lovebirds continued their long-distance relationship for another 3 years, living for the weekend when they were able to spend time with each other again -- even if it was on opposites ends of the couch studying and cooking dinner together.

Fast forwarding through an abundance of 4-wheeled miles, more Saturday night stay-at-home movie dates than they can count and too many “c'mon, we deserve it” second helpings of dessert...

In September of last year, Andrew took Rachel out to Savannah, GA on the exact dock where the two took their first picture together as boyfriend/girlfriend. With the sun setting behind the bridge on the Savannah river, Andrew bent one knee and asked Rachel to be more than just his best friend, but his wife. Her answer was yes.

The two now finally live together in Charleston, SC, where Dr. Rachel Rice is a resident at MUSC Hospital on her road to becoming an Anesthesiologist and Andrew has progressed through several roles at Ecolab, currently managing a team that stretches across several states. The soon-to-be Liedbergs are so thankful to be blessed with two sets of beyond-amazing parents, phenomenal families and the best friends anyone could ever ask for.
