It's been such a long time, we don't even know where to begin!&nbsp;From a chance encounter at a party, long distance between London and Leeds, to our current working lives in Hackney, we've lived a whole life together already. Every one of our friends and family have supported us along the way and we want to celebrate not just us, but each person who has helped make this the best time of our lives.&nbsp;We are very lucky to have so many amazing friends who share our sense of adventure.&nbsp;That's why we are so grateful you are all willing to make the journey to South Africa.&nbsp;We know it's on many of your bucket lists and hopefully it won't disappoint! We have added some information about amazing places to visit in Cape Town, optional group activities we are arranging and recommendations for things to do on the Garden Route. Let the party begin!

There are so many amazing things to do in and around Cape Town. We will arrange a couple of activities which are completely optional, for the few days preceding the wedding. Here is a short list of recommended activities.

Things to do around Cape Town

Climb Table Mountain up one of its many routes. The quickest and most direct is via Platteklip Gorge, next to the cable car. It is a steep hike not for the faint of heart. Luckily, there is also a cable car you can take up or down. You want to get up early to avoid the midday sun. Bring lots of water and trainers!Park at the Cable Car car park and walk 10mins down the road till you get to stone hut and you'll see the trail head. Remember to check the weather as sometimes it can have its table cloth on!

Climb table Mountain

Grab your braai spot at the foot of table mountain on the beach. Bring a few drinks and and your swimmers and enjoy the party vibes whilst the sun sets. Rock up early as it's a popular spot on the weekend.

Wine tasking around Stellenbosch and Franchoek is a must while you are in South Africa. Not only are the wines the best in the world, the food and scenery is to match! Book yourself a wine tour or jump on the wine tram in Franschoek. Remember to book a lunch spot at your favourite vineyard.

Learn more about the troubled history of the Rainbow Nation and how Mandela helped racial reconciliation after many years under apartheid.

Robben Island Museum

Take the scenic route along Chapmans Peak Pass. An amazing drive that takes you along the coast towards Cape Point. Head to Constantia for lunch at some of the oldest vineyards in South Africa.

Head on over to the southern tip of the Cape Peninsula. Walk up to the top and enjoy the views across the Atlantic Ocean. On the way there you are also likely to see lots of baboons.On the way back stop off to see the penguins at Boulder Beach.We recommend getting up early to go to Cape of Good Hope. The queues can get quite long from around 10am.

Check out the arty area of Bokaap. Duck in and out of little art studio and boutique shops. Grab lunch in the sunshine at one of the many cute little cafes.

Enjoy the sunshine and a few drinks at the V&amp;A waterfront. There are plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants to get stuck in to.

Things to do

There are lots of amazing places to stay in Cape Town. Our recommendation is to look for something in Camps Bay / Bakoven or Clifton Area where we will be staying in the run up to the wedding.Other great areas are Constantia, Sea Point or Bantry Bay.Link up with friends and get a luxury villa with great views!

Where to stay in Cape Town

You will need a car to get around Cape Town and to get to the wedding venue. Don't worry though, they drive on the same side of the road in South Africa. It is also the best way to explore the Garden Route or wherever else you decide to go.

How to get around

There are lots of direct flights either to Johannesburg or Cape Town. We recommend flying direct to Cape Town however there are lots of flights connecting Johannesburg to Cape Town as well. Rent a car from the airport and start your travels!

The Garden Route

The Garden Route is an area of outstanding natural beauty that stretches from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth. There are many amazing little towns along the route where you can stop overnight and enjoy the best South Africa has to offer. Here are just some highlights of what is one route.

Hermanus

Hermanus is cute little fishing town on the southern tip of South Africa. It has many fantastic restaurants and white sandy beaches. If you are lucky you might see some whales here too!

Wilderness

A small town tucked away in the hillside. It has some of the most rugged coast line that stretches for miles. You can walk for miles in either direction and enjoy the sounds and smells of the ocean. My grandparents also live there! So ask them about it at the wedding, they'll tell you where the locals hang out!

Knysna

The hippy town of Knysna is a great place to stop halfway down the Garden Route. It has lots of forest hikes, wildlife sanctuaries and good nightlife. You can easily spend a couple of days here exploring the area.

Oudshoorn

A little inland is Oudshoorn in the Klein Karoo. It's most well known for its ostrich farms and the Cango Caves. If you're brave, exit through the Devil's chimney, a narrow passage exiting the caves!

Plettenberg Bay

Seaside town with amazing beaches, seafood and coastal hikes. Check out the huge seal colonies on the Robberg Hiking Trail. If you fancy a night on the beach away from the crowds, book the little beach hut in Robberg Nature Reserve.

Addo Elephant Reserve 

End your trip with 3 or 4 of days at Addo Elephant Reserve. Stay in the safari tents inside the reserve to experience the sounds of the bush. You can see the big 5 year if you're lucky.
