Our Wedding

It all started with a mutual friend Nick Camilleri. He believed Rachel and Matt would be a great fit together. Rachel worked with Nick at UNC Chapel Hill in the Jaycee Burn Center. Matt went to PT school with Nick and remained good friends with him. For months Nick would subtly bring up Rachel to Matt and tell him how he worked with a girl who was beautiful and fun. Nick would also talk about Matt to Rachel and mentioned how funny he was (and how big his biceps were). However, both were in relationships with other people so despite Nick believing in the potential of them getting together it seemed it would never materialize. One night while dating other people Matt and Rachel even sat together at a Christmas party and discussed Rachel’s aversion to the game Catchphrase. Rachel contends this never happened despite many eyewitnesses and evidence to the contrary. Thus, it seemed like they were never to be. Nick eventually caught a break, however, as Rachel broke up with her boyfriend and Matt broke up with his girlfriend at nearly the same time. Nick was determined they meet and continued to shower compliments about the one to the other as he cleverly set the stage. On February 24, 2018 Nick invited Matt to hang out with him and some friends and also invited Rachel to come as well. When Rachel arrived conveniently the chair next to Matt was empty. It was instant attraction and Rachel even claims she is the one who made the first move by touching his arm when laughing at one of his jokes. After that meeting they quickly began texting and set up a mutual hangout with Nick and some friends. On March 3, 2018 they went to Chapel Hill and watched the UNC vs Duke basketball game together and even though UNC lost Matt still had a good time as Rachel kept him distracted from that. Three days later Matt asked Rachel on their first real date and by March 15, 2018 only a couple weeks after meeting they decided to make it official and date only each other.&nbsp;Rachel texted her friends the morning after their first date saying "I am going to marry him." Since then the two have been inseparable. They share a love for dogs, working as physical therapists, spending time outdoors and enjoying all of the things North Carolina has to offer, notably the mountains and beaches. More importantly, they complement each other in many ways, allowing their relationship to sum greater than their individual parts. Rachel brings an enthusiastic energy and smile to Matt’s more stoic nature. Matt brings some calm to Rachel’s storm. And while the chapters of their story may be somewhat out of order, the happy ending remains the same.&nbsp;What better way to acknowledge their love than to do so on January 14, 2022 at the Angus Barn with their friends and family, and matchmaker Nick as the officiant.

Party Bus

Party bus will pick up hotel guests at the AC Marriot at 4:00PM (only one ride to AB, bus will leave by 4:15!) and bring them to the Angus Barn. The bus will return at the end of the reception (10PM) for a ride back to the hotel!
