Our Story

My name is Chris and I want to tell you about how I met my wonderful fiancé Rachel. I had just started attending a new church where I met this amazing woman. When I first met her, I was very nervous and even a little intimidated by her. Not only is she beautiful, but also super smart. She’s a high school math teacher specializing in algebra and geometry (my two worst subjects in school)! On top of that she’s a home owner who loves to do household renovations. People often use the term “ Renaissance man” but they should be saying renaissance woman! I finally shut out the voices of fear in my head and made myself go talk to her at church. That was the best decision of my life. Once I was able talk with her things started to go well for us. We hit it off as friends. We ended up hanging out with some other people and started to get to know each other better. Our relationship started why we ended up on an “unofficial” date. A group of us from church were supposed to go out bowling one weekend but everyone canceled at the very last minute, except for Rachel. At this point I was starting to have a crush on her so I took it as a sign from God to go bowling. We went and had an amazing night! I definitely beat her in bowling but we decided to play an arcade afterwards. Here she kicked my butt in air-hockey. I had so much fun that night that I decided to ask Rachel out on an official first date. She said yes! From there things got even better. Our relationship has been filled with ups and downs, twists and turns, that more often than not end in uncontrollable laughter. The way we became an “official” couple is different. shortly after our first date Rachael and I had been texting back and forth. One day while texting she tells me she’s having a small crisis at her house. She had been cleaning her back deck when she found a dead mouse on it. Unbeknownst to her, Rachel is petrified of dead mice. She could not leave her house or even go back out on the deck to remove it. She had even contemplated burning the deck down to get rid of it! After texting back and forth for several hours about how to get rid of the dead mouse I decided to do something about it. I had definitely wanted to impress Rachel and this was the perfect opportunity do to so! It was winter time so darkness comes early. It was a cold early evening when I arrived at Rachel’s house. It is dark outside and there are leaves covering her deck. It took me a few minutes to find the dead mouse and put it in a bag. Rachel was shocked that I was able to do this so quickly. Neither of us had eaten dinner yet, so I go and pick us up something. As we are sitting on the couch laughing about the ludicrous situation I knew right then and there, this was a girl I wanted to be with. And the rest is history! I can’t wait to be married to this amazing woman. I know our life is going to full of more ups and downs and twists and turns. I can’t wait to do life with this awesome woman.
