Rachel and Michael met "up north" at their family cabins in northwest Wisconsin in June of 2023.

At the time, Rachel was happily living and working remotely at her parents' cozy cabin. On a Saturday night, she was craving connection and decided to go out with some of her local friends in the area. Michael was also at his cabin that night with a group of friends and family, just 10 minutes down the road from Rachel. They all agreed to go out to Cabaret, and although Michael was feeling under the weather, he decided to go anyway.

Cabaret was Rachel's second stop that night, and it’s where she and Michael first met. There was an instant connection between them. Michael made her laugh, and was happy to tear up the dance floor with her - something that she loves. That night, Michael introduced her to his cousins and closest friends, and they even ran into his parents at the next stop. Rachel felt like she was fitting right in with his whole crew.

From that moment on, Rachel and Michael couldn’t stop talking. Every weekend, when Michael finished work, he’d drive up from the Twin Cities to spend time with Rachel. They enjoyed sunny days at the beach, went jet skiing, boating, and created unforgettable memories during that summer as they fell in love.

It was a happy coincidence that not only were their cabins just 10 minutes apart, but they also hailed from the same area in Minnesota, which deepened their connection.

Before long, Michael asked Rachel to move in with him. They spent a few months living up north while Michael worked in the area, and afterwards, they found an apartment in the Twin Cities where they lived for about a year.

During that year together, Rachel and Michael grew even closer, welcomed a yellow lab named Wally into their family, got engaged, and bought a house in Lakeville, MN, where they currently reside.

The couple shared the same life goals and knew they wanted to embark on this journey together, so why wait?
