In September 2017 Brian and I both downloaded a dating app called Clover, and neither one of us thought anything would actually come of it. However, Brian and I were a match, and we started talking all the time until finally Brian asked if we could meet up in person. We ended up meeting at Starbucks where we had a nice and slightly awkward conversation for about an hour and a half (we affectionately call this encounter “the interview”). It ended abruptly as I had lost track of time and rushed off to class. Brian took this as a bad sign, and thought he would probably never see me again. Regardless, he reached out anyway, and we have talked every day since then.

Eventually we spent more time together and went on a few more (less awkward) dates. In October Brian asked me what he would have to do to make our relationship official, and I told him I wanted to spend more time together first. So, for the next month we saw each other all of the time. Then on November 16th, 2017 I told Brian that I was ready whenever he wanted to ask me again, and that same night I officially became his girlfriend. We knew from the beginning that what we had was different and special. It wasn't long before we said, "I love you" and not long after that, we began discussing a future and how we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together.

On June 7th, 2019 Brian asked me to marry him and I said "of course". Shortly after that we began planning our wedding. We had our hearts set on a fall wedding with the perfect date, October 10th, 2020. Unfortunately, that is not how it worked out for us, and after a long discussion and a lot of phone calls to a lot of people, we decided to move our big day. Now we cannot wait to get married to each other and finally be husband and wife on May 22nd, 2021!
