Our Wedding

“All along there was some invisible string, tying you to me”-Taylor Swift Jesse and I met while working for a GM Accessories&nbsp;Supplier. I was hired as a filer and was told Jesse would be the person directing me for the details of my job. He was laid back and quiet but had a funny side to him&nbsp;that&nbsp;made me start to take notice. I&nbsp;especially&nbsp;remember&nbsp;our&nbsp;rubber band wars with&nbsp;coworkers.&nbsp;Jesse&nbsp;went on to another job but we continued to keep in contact for a year or so before he asked me on a date.&nbsp;Our first date was intended to be Clubhouse BFD,&nbsp;however,&nbsp;it had a 2 hour wait,&nbsp;so Jesse quickly thought of Steelhouse Tavern. I knew&nbsp;there was&nbsp;something special when we were sitting,&nbsp;still talking,&nbsp;even after our bill was paid and food was wrapped up. In fact,&nbsp;one of the waiters politely came&nbsp;over&nbsp;and asked us to leave because they were closing for the night.&nbsp;Being able to talk to someone so easily, for so long, was something straight out of a movie.&nbsp;Jesse officially asked me to be his girlfriend January 31st, 2019.Time&nbsp;has&nbsp;flown by, but still feels like yesterday.&nbsp;In our time together,&nbsp;we have&nbsp;done some traveling&nbsp;to Au Sable, Traverse City, Nashville, Mackinac Island and Las Vegas.&nbsp;We have even&nbsp;added a few additions. A&nbsp;leopard&nbsp;Gecko (Remy),&nbsp;a&nbsp;Cockatiel (Phoebe), and&nbsp;a&nbsp;Red&nbsp;Labrador (Killian).&nbsp;And 5 years later…!&nbsp;He proposed!Thinking back, it was one of the&nbsp;happiest&nbsp;days&nbsp;of my life. I took the day off to run some errands before we were heading to visit my family in Indiana for Easter.&nbsp;I went to Crispellis,&nbsp;picked up some bread,&nbsp;enjoyed a&nbsp;quick breakfast and stopped off to have a manicure&nbsp;(talk about great timing!).&nbsp;When I got home Jesse suggested we take Killian for a walk&nbsp;in the park.&nbsp;I didn’t think anything of it,&nbsp;so I put on my walking shoes, threw my hair in a messy ponytail and&nbsp;went out the door.&nbsp;Jesse&nbsp;wasn’t kidding when he said Killian had&nbsp;a lot of energy because he pulled&nbsp;hard enough that it hurt&nbsp;Jesses&nbsp;shoulder. I wanted to give&nbsp;him&nbsp;a break,&nbsp;so I took Killian and continued walking.&nbsp;Jesse&nbsp;was a couple steps behind me when I heard him&nbsp;say&nbsp;he loved me. I stopped walking, turned around and&nbsp;told him I love him too. There was a brief pause before I&nbsp;noticed&nbsp;his&nbsp;lip&nbsp;was bleeding. And it was after I pointed it out that he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. We have an inside joke now&nbsp;with the&nbsp;phrase “your lip is bleeding”….comes before good news.You could say,&nbsp;It had everything our proposal story was supposed to have.&nbsp;That’s what made it so perfectJesse and I are&nbsp;very&nbsp;grateful to our family and friends who have been with us on this journey and we can't wait to celebrate with all of you 9.27.2025!&nbsp;&nbsp;

Emily has known Rachel since kindergarten however the two of them got much closer in high school when they started carpooling together. They became so close they commonly refer to each other as “the other half of the brain”.  In her free time, Emily enjoys reading, listening to K-POP, and rooting on the Detroit Lions. Rachel is so excited to have her other half (of the brain) stand by her side as Maid of Honor on her wedding day.

Kristen has been best friends with Rachel since kindergarten where they spent their recesses playing a game where they run from “The Witch”. Growing up their hobbies changed to listening to Fall Out Boy, skiing/snowboarding and checking out the newest bars in Grand Rapids. Kristen spends her free time building legos, watching soccer, and gaming. The wedding wouldn’t be complete without the person who stood by Rachels side for the past 21 years.

Addison and Rachel met in high school through Emily. She was eager to join the friend group with Rachel, Emily, and Kristen and after seeing her bubbly personality they knew she fit right in. She is your biggest cheerleader while also giving you tough honesty when you need it most. In her free time Addison enjoys reading, puzzles, and diamond art. Rachel is so excited to have her favorite cheerleader at her side on her wedding day! 

Addison

Miranda met Rachel through The School of Histotechnology at Beaumont Hospital. They frequently refer to their friendship as a “trauma bond” from learning to navigate the internship together. Although they work together now, they developed a friendship outside of work and enjoy exploring book stores, getting pedicures together, and bar hopping in Royal Oak. In her free time, Miranda enjoys reading, hiking, and spoiling her fur baby Liam. Rachel never expected that someone who was a stranger four years ago would become one of her best friends and a bridesmaid in her wedding. But now she couldn’t imagine it without her.    


Miranda

Keira is Jesse’s oldest niece. She loves animals, especially her lease horse Blue and bunny Snowy. Keira is also an avid artist and is always looking for new ways to create art. Having not grown up with siblings, Rachel is thrilled to be able to have her future niece in her bridal party.


Keira

Anna is Jesse’s youngest niece. She loves to read books, especially the Percy Jackson and Wings of Fire series. She also is very talented at archery and frequently participates in competitions. Rachel feels incredibly lucky that she gets not one but 2 future nieces that will stand with her on her wedding day.

Jesse and Mike met while working together in IT. Since they don't work together anymore, they keep the "bromance" alive by playing APEX 

Mike

Justin is Jesses older brother. He spends his free time gaming and participating in his kids hobbies. In the late fall Justin, Jesse, and their dad head up to "deer camp" in Hillman for a week to hunt deer.

Jesse and Erik met in college at Oakland University. They worked together for awhile and even played hockey. Erik spends his free time as a hockey referee, gaming, and spoiling his cat Zelda

Jesse and Jake met working in IT and traveled to Seattle with their coworkers to install new equipment for a dealership. Although they dont work together anymore, Jesse is still Jakes go-to person when he needs help untangling an IT problem

Wade is Jesses nephew. In fact, Jesse is the one who came up with his name! Wade enjoys playing on his iPad and building legos.
