Josh and Rachel met at First Baptist Church Pensacola. Ms. Barbara McVoy kept telling both of them individually how cute the other was. Rachel and Josh both went on a mission trip to North Africa through the church in April of 2024. Due to a seat mishap they ended up sitting by each other on a 9 hour flight from ATL to Paris. Josh was so nervous he threw up before the plane had even hit the air. They spent the 9 hour flight, talking, sharing music, watching movies, playing with tiny hands and not sleeping at all. After almost getting stranded in Paris after a 14 hour layover and missing their flight the two had hit it off. They spent 8 days together and Josh asked Rachel to be his girlfriend the first day they got back. Ms. Barbara McVoy was ecstatic to hear the news and said she had been praying for this. 

Josh proposed on January 22nd with snow on the beach.
