Brian and Rachel met organically during the pandemic in January 2021. Rachel and her friend had decided to attend a beach fitness bootcamp to meet new people in the new year. Brian had recently moved to San Diego and was looking to meet people and work on his fitness as well. Although they did not talk during the workout, Rachel had eyes on him. Once the hour of bootcamp hell was over, the instructor mentioned that she was having a game night at her house that night. Even though Rachel had no clue Brian lived with the instructor, Rachel and her friend decided to stop by the game night assuming there might be some cute men there.

As soon as Rachel arrived at the game night, she saw Brian was there and was happy she got up the courage to attend. Once she arrived, probably early, there were not many people there yet. Brian had decided to go up to her and start a conversation. When he found out she was from the South and he had lived in New Orleans for a while, they started bonding quickly about food, traveling, etc. At the end of the night, Brian had asked her for her number.

Shortly after meeting, they went roller skating on their first date and started traveling two weeks later. Brian mentioned that if he could handle a long road trip with a woman that he just met, then they should be able to handle anything. Since that game night, they have been inseparable and have traveled many amazing places and created wonderful memories together.
