I am travelling from overseas - where should I look to stay in London?

Merchant Taylors’ Hall is right in the heart of central London, so you’ll be well-placed no matter where you stay. We live in East London, so if you pick somewhere around there, it’ll be extra easy for us to meet up during your trip. And if you’d like specific area or hotel recommendations, feel free to reach out — we’re more than happy to help!

How do I get to the wedding venue?

Merchant Taylors’ Hall is located on Threadneedle Street, just a short stroll from Bank Station. You can hop off the Central, Northern, Waterloo & City or DLR lines and be moments away. It should be easy to find on Google maps! Upon arrival, please access the venue by the rightmost door - that's the one for our lovely guests (the left door is for our suppliers only). Only named guests are allowed entry. Driving to the venue is strongly discouraged as parking is a nightmare in central London.

Are you accepting gifts?

Your presence on the day means the most to us. Therefore we’re not expecting gifts — especially from our family and friends travelling from overseas. The fact that you’re taking the time (and the miles!) to celebrate with us already means the world. If you’d like to bring a wedding card, we’ll have a little collection box in the entrance hall, just across from the cloakroom. And if you do feel like gifting us something, that is of course appreciated. However, instead of physical gifts, feel free to make a contribution to our honeymoon fund via the link here (completely optional!): https://monzo.me/wongngayi94?h=YH96JD

What is the dress code?

We’re keeping things simple with a classic formal dress code. For the ladies, we kindly ask that you avoid wearing white or anything too close to it. For the gentlemen, feel free to wear a suit — and if you’d like to go all out in black tie, that’s absolutely welcome too. We can’t wait to see everyone dressed up!

Is anything taking place outdoors?

All of the main celebrations — the ceremony and the reception — will be held indoors, so you’ll be warm, cozy, and comfortable throughout the day. Merchant Taylors’ Hall also has a charming courtyard that we’d love to use for photos and a bit of mingling, but we’ll only head outside if the weather is kind to us. Fingers crossed for sunshine!

Will we have full and exclusive access to the venue?

Yes! We have the whole of Merchant Taylors’ Hall to ourselves for the day, so feel free to wander and explore the beautiful rooms at your own pace. All of our celebrations — the ceremony, reception, wedding breakfast, and the party — will take place under one roof, making everything easy and nicely connected.

Are photos allowed during the wedding?

You’re very welcome to take photos and videos throughout the day — we’d love to see the moments you capture! For the wedding ceremony though, we kindly ask that once the bride has walked down the aisle, everyone keeps phones and cameras away and on silent until we’ve finished exchanging our vows. We want that part of the day to feel calm, present, and truly intimate. We’ll have a professional photographer and videographer capturing our wedding ceremony beautifully, and we’ll share the photos and videos with you as soon as they’re ready.
