Crossing Paths: Jared and I were always aware of who one another were. Jared works with my dad, Mark, and my parents were pretty adamant that we would someday get together. One night at the Pender Alumni Street Dance we mingled a little bit. Jared messaged me later on Facebook, to which I never replied. We wouldn't talk again for just about two years.

Reconnecting: In early 2021, I moved back to Pender to work a few short term contracts at the hospital. I was asked to play on a bowling team in the Fake State Tournament. After one too many drinks and plenty of convincing from friends, I did eventually send Jared this Snapchat asking him if he would want to hang out the next day.

First Date: Long story short, I actually bailed on our "first date," but after a few attempts to reschedule I agreed to go out for a beer. We made our way to the infamous White Dog Pub in Wayne, America. We talked all night and shot some darts.

Making It Official: Two of my best friends, Jake and Alyssa, tied the knot on this night. I worked up some courage and asked Jared if he would be my boyfriend. Spoiler alert.. he said yes.

Who Said I Love You First?: I had just moved back to Pender and the we decided to head to the Cuming County Fair. After a night of fun at the tractor pull as we were heading back to the car, and I was the first to say "I love you."

The Proposal: We had been dating for about three and a half years at this point. Just a few days before Christmas we were sitting on the couch in Jared's home. We stumbled on the topic of the future and what exciting things were to come when Jared decided to ask me the big question. I of course said yes and the rest is history.
