Raegan and Ford first met in a group interview they were a part of during their sophomore year at Samford, but their friendship truly began the following semester when they sat next to each other in their Economics class (shoutout Dr. McCarty). Ford loved to listen to Raegan tell him about her Game Theory class, and Raegan loved to listen to whatever random things Ford decided to tell her that morning (usually something about his coffee). They would talk before class and often walk together after class, and by the end of the semester, they had become great school friends. When summer came around, though, they stopped talking, and neither of them had any future plans to reconnect.

That is, until Raegan invited Ford to a Phi Mu date party the following Fall. Remembering the sweet friendship they had developed the previous semester, he happily accepted, and it was in the weeks leading up to this function that they began to fall in love with each other. During these weeks they would find any opportunity to talk with each other on campus. Before they had started communicating over text, they would each individually go to Samford’s Ben Brown Plaza just in hopes of running into the other. After weeks of this and an incredible time together during the function, Ford asked Raegan on their first date.

They officially started dating a month later, and they both knew very early what their hopes for their future were. They admitted to each other later that they each began thinking about marriage within a month or two of dating, and they began seriously talking about it the following Spring. Ford proposed to Raegan on September 28th, 2024, and they are eagerly waiting to start their lives together on May 24th, 2025. Raegan and Ford have been such an incredible source of joy for each other. They praise God for His faithfulness in orchestrating this relationship, and they pray that their love and delight in each other will be a picture of God’s love and delight in His people for the world to see.
