It was August 28, 2010.

We were both out with family and friends in downtown Austin, and happened to walk past each other. Some may find it hard to believe, but we stared each other down, and it seemed like everyone else disappeared. I originally walked passed him with my girls, but when I made it back his way Jarvis ( the best man/wing man) stopped me and said, " Hey, I've never seen my brother look at someone like that before" (I should have known at that moment what I was getting myself into). Rafael and I spoke briefly, and I quickly decided he was too young for me that is until he smiled. Once I saw that smile it did something to me that I can't explain and we decided to exchanged numbers. He waited a couple of days to text me, but I still remember the first text he ever sent me, and it simply said " Hey Beautiful, good morning" ( this guy thinks he smooth). We literally corresponded for hours, and from that, a bond formed that has truthfully been tested, but never broken!
