Just after New Years in 2018, Randi was hanging out with one of her friends and swiping through Tinder (keep in mind this was when Tinder was a big thing!) At this point in time, Randi went on a lot of dates, but nothing interesting enough to take seriously, and Kevin was busy searching for his perfect match. One of Randi’s friends decided it was time to take matters into her own hands and went on Randi’s tinder and ‘swiped right’ on Kevin. This is how Randi and Kevin began talking. Kevin admitted to Randi that he saw her on Tinder about 6 months ago and was waiting for the day that they matched. Kevin even showed Randi’s pictures to his friends at work because he was so excited that they finally had the chance to talk. Kevin invited Randi over for dinner at his house in Raymond. Randi was so nervous that she did not show up until 9pm that night. Kevin was very close to calling off the date but decided to wait and give Randi the benefit of the doubt. Kevin and Randi hit it off instantly, and what sealed the deal was that Kevin’s dog (Dusty) was very fond of Randi. When it was time to leave, Kevin walked Randi to her vehicle and that is when they had their first kiss.

Kevin and Randi took their annual family trip to Lillooet, BC. This is when Kevin asked his mom, Bonnie, if he could have his grandmothers ring to ask Randi for her hand in marriage. Kevin decided to plan a hike to Pix Falls where he would propose to Randi by the waterfall. Randi was less than amused about having to climb up a trail to see the waterfall as it was a little too steep for her liking. Little did she know that Kevin was going to pop the question at the top. Randi could tell that Kevin was nervous about something, but unsure why. Randi was watching the waterfall while Kevin got on one knee behind her. Randi turned around and Kevin said, “Randi, the love of my life. Will you marry me?” And Randi shouted, “YES!” She was so surprised that she burst into tears of happiness.
