Every trip we have taken to Puerto Rico together, there has been no question that when we land, we are immediately going to the Piñones to get food. This strip of kiosks that is 10 minutes from the airport offers all of Puerto Rico's staple foods from empanadas and ceviche to full meals like churrasco and mofongo. There is nothing like drinking the cold coconut water straight from the fresh, whole coconuts they crack open for you ... or the passion fruit smoothies and pina coladas!
The address above is to get you to the first restaurant on the strip however, you can also try "Pinones" in your GPS.
We have done Beach Horseback Riding and ATV riding near the El Yunque Rainforest through Carabalí Rainforest Park. We always have great experiences here. There is also a bar and grill on site. This is approximately 35 minutes away from the airport.
A catamaran boat trip that will take you to Puerto Rico's offshore islands. We have taken this trip through different companies to Cayo Icacos, Isla Culebra, and Vieques. It includes one stop to go snorkling and another to relax on the beach. Light lunch is provided in addition to unlimited drinks. We have linked this to one of the excursion companies we have used, East Island Excursions. We have also used Castillo tours.
* You may be able to plan an excursion like this through your hotel, including pick up/ drop off to the hotel. The marina is approximately one hour away from the airport.
