On August 24th, 2020 Mary went to the Green Room Church on Monday night as she often did. At church Ras randomly came to her mind. Mary left church to meet up with her friend Amber Rose to have a Mom's Night Out. Amber suggested that they go to Powell's Pub because Ras liked to hang out there, Mary hadn't mentioned Ras at all! She knew who Ras was as they had many mutual friends but she did not really know him. When Mary and Amber Rose got to Powell's, Ras was sitting out on the porch alone, it was like he was waiting for Mary. Amber Rose and Mary walked up to Ras and said hi. Amber Rose looked at Ras and then looked at Mary she said "he's single and you're single, YES" with so much enthusiasm and then she walked away! Ras asked Mary if she would like a hug she said yes and had the most incredible butterflies of her life! They spent the rest of the evening outside at the bonfire amongst other friends enjoying each other's company. By the end of that evening they had already told each other that they did not want to see anybody else that they just wanted to get to know one another better. Within 2 weeks while Mary was having a prayer time she heard the spirit tell her that this was the man she was going to marry, she wrote it on a slip of paper, dated it and stuck it in her Bible! She was too nervous to tell Ras immediately but within a couple of weeks she told him and it did not scare him or make him run away! LOL! Fast forward not even one year (June 15th 2021) amidst laughing and teasing one another about getting married Ras took a ring off his finger and tossed it at Mary, it hit the floor at her feet! She picked it up and said "I accept" while doubling over in laughter! She looked at him and asked "are you serious?" and he said "Yes!" Mary said " if you're serious then you've got to at least get down on one knee and ask me the right way!" He laughed. So she took the ring off her finger gave it back to Ras, he then got down on one knee in their living room and asked if Mary would marry him. When ahe said yes he tossed the ring up in the air, she caught it, and slid it back on her finger where it belonged! When he went to work later that day Mary went and got him a ring. When he got off of work Mary was there outside of his job waiting for him and proposed to him as well! They have since enjoyed their time together painting, being in nature, cooking yummy foods and loving their family. In June of 2023 they were gifted their beautiful son Darya and have enjoyed raising him together with Mary's older son Aaron and their dog Mister.
