My beautiful daughter Kameelah, my firstborn, is a mommy in the making. Having her as a bridesmaid has always been a dream of mine. I am so happy she will be by my side for our wedding.

Sayyid, or Sysy as we affectionately call him, is my nephew but he has always felt like a son to me. Watching him grow into the incredible father he is today, to his daughter Sahara—who mirrors him in both looks and spirit—has been a source of immense pride. Since my father’s passing, I’ve felt deeply that Sysy should honor his legacy by walking me down the aisle. It’s a role that would have made my father incredibly proud.
