Rashmi &amp; Gary met the old-fashioned way: on Hinge! Ever the economist, Gary knew the market forces at play and supplied the perfect introduction, heaping praise on Rashmi's beloved pup, Niko. Both grizzled veterans of app dating, they cautiously held their first date in neutral territory: at Deep Dive, a Seattle cocktail bar located precisely between their offices. But the meeting proved fruitful and by the end of the night, they agreed to further talks. The next few weeks were a whirlwind tour of each other's lives, and before the first month was through, Gary asked if he could leave a toothbrush and a change of clothes. And another change of clothes, and a suitcase, and could he please have a bathroom drawer? And he never left :)

For guests traveling from outside Seattle, here are some of the recommended hotels that are close to the venue. The below list is sorted based on distance from the wedding venue (closest to furthest) and price (highest to lowest). A discounted block for limited rooms has been secured at Archer Hotel, but you are welcome to book your stay at any hotel of your choice.

A boutique, 4 star hotel with a rustic, modern lodge ambiance and a full-service spa. 5 minutes drive or Uber ride from the wedding venue. This is the closest, but slightly more expensive option.

Willows Lodge

<a href="https://archerhotel.com/redmond/book/rashmi-and-gary" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Discounted Room Block</a>An upscale 4 star hotel with a casual, cozy atmosphere and a great gym. 15 minutes drive or Uber ride from the wedding venue. This is the only hotel option we have with a discounted block. We will have a shuttle dropping guests from the venue to Archer hotel at the end of the wedding festivities.

A 3 star hotel with gym and indoor pool. 15 minutes drive or Uber ride from the wedding venue.

Hyatt House Seattle/Redmond

Getting to the Wedding VenueFor guests staying at The Archer hotel, we have arranged a shuttle to bring you to the wedding venue and back to the hotel. The shuttle will be right outside the hotel; look for the bus named "Butler". Please read carefully, as due to venue constraints, our shuttle timings are very tight and specific to each guest. Shuttle 1 | Wedding Party ONLY | 4:45 PMIf you (or your child) are in the wedding party, please assemble for the shuttle by 4:45 PM. The shuttle departs at 4:50 PM sharp, as we need you at the venue by 5:20 PM. Shuttle 2 | All other guests | 5:45 PMIf you're not in the wedding party, this is your shuttle. Please be ready and outside the hotel by 5:45 PM, as the shuttle will leave by 5:50 PM. If you miss this shuttle, please plan to take an Uber/Lyft. The wedding ceremony begins promptly at 6:30 PM, and we need guests seated before that. After dinner and toasts, we will have the shuttle running continuously from the venue from 9 PM to 11:30 PM (once every 45 minutes).

Travel

Seattle is absolutely beautiful in the summer and we are so excited for you to be here. We've put together a list of our favorite spots and activities to enjoy during your free time. A lot of the bars and restaurants on our list are in the Capitol Hill and Belltown neighborhoods of Seattle. If you're in the area for multiple days, we recommend driving up to Olympic National Park or the North Cascades for some spectacular hikes. Ask us for recommendations if you're planning backcountry excursions :)

They are known for their intimate, speak-easy style setting and serve some of the best whiskey drinks in town. It's a bit on the pricier side but well worth it. <a href="https://www.queenannebeerhall.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Queen Anne Beer Hall</a>A Bavarian-style beer hall. Great selection of German and Pacific Northwest brews and delicious soft pretzels. <a href="https://deepdiveseattle.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Deep Dive</a>Delicious craft cocktails - we met here for our first date and have a soft corner for it. Reservations needed

They have multiple locations in Seattle and Redmond. <a href="https://sushikashiba.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Sushi Kashiba</a>One of Gary's recommended sushi places. Founded by legendary sushi chef, Shiro Kashiba. They're expensive but have an exceptional omakase experience. If you don't have a reservation, plan to arrive 45 minutes before opening. <a href="https://ramendanbo.com/our-menu-seattle/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Ramen Danbo</a>The BEST ramen we have ever had. Their menu is fully customizable and they have plenty of options for vegetarians and vegans too. <a href="https://www.portagebaycafe.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Portage Bay Cafe</a>Famous brunch spot with multiple locations. One of their biggest draws is their "toppings bar", where you can load up on berries, nuts, and house-whipped cream for your pancakes and waffles. <a href="https://www.bangrakmarket.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Bangrak Market</a>Excellent Thai restaurant inspired by Bangkok's lively street markets. Reservations recommended. <a href="https://www.roccosseattle.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Roccos</a>Seattle is no New York, but if you're in the mood for pizza, Rocco's offers New York style slices and is one of our go-to spots. It's also right across the street from Bangrak Market. <a href="https://eltana.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Eltana </a>Montreal-style, wood-fired bagels. Gary swears by them, so you know they're legit. Just know that they're a little smaller than New York style bagels. <a href="http://www.mavallitiffinrooms.com/seattle" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">MTR</a>A very famous restaurant from Rashmi's hometown - Bangalore. MTR offers delicious South Indian fare. We recommend the Rava Idly, Bisi Bele Bath and Filter Coffee.
